Interesting that you say this. At the moment I am getting ready to build a piece or two of new gym equipment. A triceps machine and then perhaps a running machine with resistance, not anything like a treadmill.

I have to overcome the momentum problem with such a machine as athletes want to go full speed and they are quicker than the force of gravity. Still would be a good machine for most athletes to build

amazing leg strength. As Arthur Jones explained, you need an anti-kinetic device. The only current machine that I know of that has that property is the Keiser air leg press. Instant load for negatives.

Life Fitness had an amazing series in the 1990's working on electrical resistance. Also instant load for negatives. Using conventional resistance isn't so easy to design. Will give it more thought.

What do you think of the Medx machines that Jones developed after selling Nautilus? Instead of pulling the stack from the top it lifts it from the bottom with a very short stroke which is supposed to make it friction-free.

The 24 Hour Fitness in Torrance, CA. had a line of Keiser Machines and I thought they were absolutely great. You could actually do fast movements without causing momentum and you could adjust the air pressure while doing the movements. You could lighten the load for force reps and increase the load for negatives. It also seemed easier on the joints. I'm not sure why. It was kind of high maintenance as the compressors would go out several times during the year.

Of course, it wasn't very popular and 24 HR eventually for rid of it. People had this biased that because it was air pressured it couldn't build your muscles like weights can. It was good for rehab but not strength and hypertrophy. The reasoning was that air pressure isn't a natural resistance like weights are. Even people whom I considered intelligent would make this utterly asinine argument. Other than this old granny, I was the only one that used this equipment during the hours I trained.

Regarding electrical resistance ( I was hook on by Bruce Lee), try modern day EMS at :Bodytechfitness or Inpuls gyms in Sydney.

In just 20-30 minuts you'll be dead, depends of EMS level. Still thinking to buy 1 of those EMS suits, $ 3000 ?.

Do you have a link that shows this equipment in action?

Even people whom I considered intelligent would make this utterly asinine argument. Other than this old granny, I was the only one that used this equipment during the hours I trained.

Golds Gym at Venice had some Keiser machines. I remember that the seated calf machine was great. Heaps of resistance. What I found, and this applies to almost all equipment, was that movements didn't feel right if you went really heavy. The calf machine excepted, of course. But machines for chest just didn't feel right with big loads. I worried about my joints then.

Cybex built a horizontal leg press. Quite impressive machine until you loaded heavy weights. Then the movement didn't feel right. The problem with much of the equipment is that the designers are not bodybuilders. Then you have the problem of catering to all sorts of individuals, tall, short, fat, etc. Not easy to make a machine that accommodates everyone and feels right. I thought of making some machines with self aligning pivot points. Should be great for arms, chest and shoulders.

The Medx machines are very advanced and some are excellent. The triceps machine is a good one. Lots of resistance in the extended position. Some guys complained that the weights didn't feel as heavy as indicated. If you selected 100 pounds it might feel like only 70 or so. All machines with moving parts have some friction. Ray Mentzer had to admit that my machines were smoother than Nautilus. I used big pulleys and heavy duty bearings plus linear bearings on the shafts.

Yes

Basil is by far the superior vince for several reasons

- Not a homo
- Better current shape despite his advanced age
- Has actually been in shape at one point, goodrum has forever looked like utter shit
- even if claims of him living in a warehouse are true, warehouse > caravan

Also, Basile is the actual Vince (being called Vince since it's his real name), Melvin was just called "Venom Vince Versace" as his nickname when he was doing G4P.

And he is not a Homowrecker.

Goodrum did get into reasonable shape for his last contest. He always placed last! One time he got a trophy because there were only two guys in his class.

When I was competing in Vancouver I gave ALL my trophies away except for the Mr Canada.

if Ron is not weak heart-ted he will take it positively instead of banning me for telling truth  ..this forum like truth right ?

reasons are below,

(1) unfunny frequent  posters like Superfag1900  , Fatfrenzy and armyofone  starting and maintaining topics that are not interesting and making very poor quality multiple  posts.

(2) forum is full of gay jokes and gay threads plus racist hateful threads , not a bright place to stay at all.

(3) people with most post count are the biggest weirdos here actually ( including kwon ) with exception of few ( tapeworm , mr anabolic etc )

(4) banning and disappearance of good posters while posters like shizzo was allowed to make this forum quality go low.

(5) not letting new posters  come in ...if you try to register it will take 3-4 month to get approve and you might not even get email notifying the registration  completion

etc.

the next time you feel like making a thread like this, remove the dried semen from your uvula first. It will probably lift your mood.

Back surgeons would not like MedX if it worked as well as advertised.

Actually there aren't enough bodybuilding posts plain and simple. Sorry not sorry.

Agreed. There is too much attention paid to political issues and gossip having nothing to do with bodybuilding. I admit that I am guilty of this.

One of the gyms I work out at has a plate loaded machine which may do what your talking about with a resistance running piece of equipment. Here is a photo of the exact machine I am speaking of.

Not a lot of people at this gym use it though. I have tried it a couple of times and I like it. I don't have to add much weight to feel the workout.

A standard automotive shock absorber provides force dependent resistance.  Seems likely they would have low resistance recovery. Needle valves give fine control of hydraulic and pneumatic flow. Reputable spring manufacturers will have performance graphs for compression, extension, and torsion springs.

P., in 1 of Bruce Lee movies he talks how effective Electro Muscle Stimulations is ,so  I got simmilar 1 !.
(hey every kid copied B.L. & wanted to be him , remember what he said : be like a water)

It was bloody working, only issue was too many wires around.

Those new EMS suits, thats another galaxy, price yes, costly 'studio' classes too, no more than 2-4 people per class.

I think 3-4 studios operates in Sydney CBD !. Google for Honolulu, hey NASA is using EMS in space !.

YouTube for EMS training.

If it is a shit machine then it is probably good that I never got into using it on a regular basis. I found it awkward to get positioned into it. I'll leave it for the rugby players to use since I have no interest in being a rugby player.

When it comes to Goodrum , G4P means Gay for Pleasure.
