as a child of the 80s i grew up on enter the dragon/commando/blood sport/rocky 3 & 4/rambo 1,2,3.Out of those I think enter the dragon was really the one that planted the seed, his low bodyfat and lats were insane to me back then.I think most of us here were mainly influenced by the 80s action stars.

I think it must've been Conan the Barbarian with Arnold (1982) or He-Man from Masters of the Urinals (1983).

I'm sure Sly in Rocky 3 helped to inspire as well as Ivan Drago(Dolph) in Rocky 4.

Bruce in Way of the Dragon and Fist of Fury inspired me to start training Martial Arts (saw those in the 70s).

Wasn’t a movie. Got to college and realized I was a small fish in a big pond. Started lifting to stand out more and get in better shape. I really liked it for a while and kept with it to gain size rather than ripped up. I’d say like most of us, Pumping Iron helped push/motivate from standard working out for health to working out to get big.

Oh and Ultimate Warrior was an inspiration as well!

Dude looked like a superhero from the comics.
(didn't know anything about Steroids back then)

When i first watched wrestling i thought he looked so much cooler than the others.

Sure, Hogan, Tugboat, Earthquake and Andre were big but not as impressive / ripped.

Much cooler than Hitman, Snuka, Jake the Snake and the others too

He had that special thing

Pumping iron was a huge inspiration for me in my teens... And all the Arnold movies terminator predator especially.

But the movie I remember that actually first planted the idea that I could make my muscles bigger was double impact, I remember seeing it when I was like 12, there s a scene where he works out using random equipment. That's when I realised I could start lifting myself. It gave me the idea to load my school bag with books and starting doing curls every night.

The rocky 4 montages are burned in to my mind.Saw rocky 4 in the cinema, whole cinema was cheering during the final fight.Never seen anything like it before or since.

Movie, Commando, with Arnold, and TV shows, the incredible hulk with Lou Ferrigno, also many cartoons like he-man and others

Call me crazy but I never saw Sylvester Stallone as that muscular, however Arnold and Lou Ferrigno were huge
