I knew Kevin pretty well back in the day. Used to work out at his gym between 1998-2000. I got to know him pretty well. Yes, he was incredibly narcissistic. He even got a nose job. He was not always a good friend to some people because he was very one way street. Only cared for himself most of the time. He used parade around his own gym proclaiming himself as the 'best built man on earth'.

But I can also say that he was extremely driven and was already looking at life beyond bodybuilding even while at his peak. And he was very self motivating and driven to try to succeed.

Both....but primarily defending him on the basis of what he attempted to succeed at. You miss every shot you don't take. And at least he tried to some degree of moderate success. He's making some pretty good coin nowadays with his overseas supplement line. He still draws crowds when he visits these foreign countries. Hes literally been all over the world and it's pretty extraordinary to me. I'm envious of that. He's probably filled up half a dozen passports in his life.

People on this forum, in particular, care because we grew up reading magazines that lied to us on every page about what it really took to be muscular.

It's the same backlash you get from women today when they were reading "Seventeen" magazine where 12 year old girls were being sold on ideas by 25 year old anorexic depressed drug addicts.

Genetic response to drugs is by far the biggest factor. Mike could look that way on insanely low does - I’ve personally seen guys start 200mg test / week - and look crazy in a month or so.
I’ve never seen women upset over actresses and models in advertisements. I was outnumbered by females until my youngest daughter left home and just never saw them upset that the actress with obvious plastic surgery that was selling a skin cream was lying. Guys on here get hot and bothered when some random guy on the internet who isn’t selling shit states that he is natural. That’s hilarious to me. It just reeks of jealousy - which isn’t an emotion that a man should ever have.

Sometimes it can just all of sudden go once you reach your 50's. Which really sucks because you've managed to make it that far in your life with all of your hair then it all of a sudden, it starts to retreat. He claims he's only taking low doses of test nowadays but I doubt its a low dose. That could've accelerated his hair loss too.
