I have a good friend who moved to Dallas, she comes from a long line of politically conservatives. Maybe that's why she has stayed in Dallas for the last 25 years. I'll have to ask her if that's so.

If I move to Germany, it would be near to my son and his family. We have many things in common; one of them being that they think Trump is an idiot and so do I. My son was in the army for 22 years and is retired now. He works on a large military base. You might think all military personnel lean to the conservative side, but that is not correct. Most Germans I've met have no time for Trump.

Yes, the media makes it look pretty bad in Portland. Last I was in downtown Portland was about a month ago. It didn't look much different than it always does, save for the fact that one store I wanted to shop at had boarded up windows and a sign at the door saying that you had to make an appointment to shop because of COVID-19. I have no reason to checkout the police union building on Lombard St. or go to that part of town, but my guess is the media has made it look worse than it is.

There is a large banner advertising a peaceful rally next Saturday a couple of miles away at a I-205 exit. I'm not anticipating anything like what's going on in Portland. We will see.

I speak with my family at least once a week. We message each other almost daily. I visit them often and usually stay for a month or so. They live in Bavaria. Maybe Bavarians feel differently about Trump than your business associates do.
