If that's how you want to take it. I am not really worried at all about the situation here ever getting to the point that it becomes unlivable, at least not in my lifetime.

Actually, I've thought about getting a place in the village where my son lives for a long while now. I'd like to split my time with my family there and here. Currently, and for the past 27 years that my son has lived in Germany, our visits have been somewhere between 2 weeks and a month long about once a year and alternating between them coming here and my going there.

The Portland riots and protests will subside soon. Couldn't find anything about this in the news today when I looked. If you have seen something regarding activity last night or this morning, post it up. I'd be interested in reading about it.

Governor Brown and Mayor Wheeler are very interested in and concerned about what's happening with the protests. The troops that Trump sent in made matters worse...the violence escalated. As a result of conversations with Wheeler, Brown and the feds, the troops have backed off and the local police are handling things now.

While I'd hate to read that someone expired from the heat, I'm not nice enough to take water to protesters and rioters carrying on during a heatwave. People make choices, some people make bad choices. They alone are responsible for whatever they decide to do and the results of their decision.

I would be more inclined to load up my car with bottled water for the homeless folks and specially their pets who are innocent of any wrong doing or stupid decisions. Anyway, There are drinking fountains everywhere in downtown Portland. No one is going to die of thirst.
