In Maine, parents of newborn children can now choose three alternatives to decide the childs gender.

Back in the day, the doctor did.

Totally expected from a 90% White state where stealing someone's chainsaw from their shed makes the evening news.

Still though - why do PARENTS get to decide on the child's "gender identity"?  Should that not be the job of doctors, or other trained medical specialists?
