I would guess yes - once again, for not paying his IFBB Pro Card fee.  ;D

But really - that's why he was banned.  It was a good legal maneuver by the IFBB to use the  Pro Card excuse after the fact.  After all, we are at a time where there is pretty significant push-back against the #MeToo movement, and Shawn has extra protection, since he is Black.  Although the N card is losing its clout as an excuse, especially since rioters decided to try to burn the USA to the ground based on a still image of a Minnesota police officer using a legal knee-hold to arrest a man who most likely was already dead from a Fentanyl overdose, where the force being used against this lowlife by the White police officer wasn't even known.

If I had to advise the IFBB on the matter, I would say that there would be a good chance that Rhoden would win a lawsuit against the IFBB if he was acquitted of the rape ex post facto [most likely] but was denied the revenue opportunity due to being banned without just cause.

And that would be costly - Rhoden could argue he is owed the Mr. Olympia winning purse on top of those funds being matched by a sponsor, as several Mr. Olympia winners had that same very deal with sponsors [Phil Heath, Jay Cutler, and Dexter Jackson with MuscleTech, for example].

So what do the super smart lawyers of the IFBB do?  They ban Rhoden on the grounds of not paying his Pro Card fee that year.  ;D  LOL!

The IFBB's lawyers remind me of the high IQ Jewish lawyer "Big Gun Joe Adler" played by Richard Simmons in the 2009 movie "Extract":

LOL.

It's pretty easy to ban a bodybuilder from competing at the Mr. Olympia if he hasn't paid his Pro Card dues, and you don't tell him, and imply he is banned because he was being charged with rape.  Rhoden probably thought it would be thousands in legal fees, and still with the possibility of not winning the case.

That was some really good lawyer work from the IFBB.  :)

Also consider that when Rhoden won the Mr. Olympia in 2017, he beat Chris Dickerson's record for oldest age of a Mr. Olympia competitor.  Both were 43 [Dickerson won in 1982], but Rhoden was a slightly older 43.

That makes Rhoden 46 this year.  :o

Phil Heath is 40 right now [he will be 41 in December], so I think he has a chance, as long as he is not injured.
Anyone else skip this post entirely?  LOL  :)

With Phil, Kai and Shawn returning it will be an exciting show. Plus Ronnie, Levrone and Flex Wheeler all coming back to teach those middle aged men how it’s done. Then factor in up and coming youngsters like Dallas McCarver, Luke Sandoe and Nick Trigili and this will go down like Survivor All-Stars: GenX vs Gen Y vs Millenials!! Can’t wait!

who forces you to follow phil online?

what did arnold say that was wrong about dorian?  how was dorian a good ambassador for the sport?  avoiding the spotlight and only showing up for the olympia is not promoting the sport, i don't think the magazines even liked putting him on the cover

ronnie was the dumb meathead stereotype that made bodybuilders look bad, he "promoted" the sport by making a fool out of himself on jay leno

how did jay try to go mainstream?  beats by jay ???

you and others hate him and that is why more will watch the show this year, he's your villain and the villain is always interesting

E

Who said I followed him online?  Just because you do as his little fanboy, it doesn't mean everyone else does.

Heath couldn't hold Jay, Ronnie or Dorian's jockstrap.   They sure wouldn't let his thieving ass hold their jewelry either.

Beats by Jay haha!  ;D

to Cutler's credit he has minted millions from his career and smart investments, several times over. probably the richest bodybuilder since Arnold (net worth of $30m)? well over Ronnie from my speculation.

why are you whining about his "drama" online if you don't follow him?  i'm not a fanboy i'm just sick of the criticism he gets when he is no worse than 3rd all time, it's like the lebron hate from fans just shut up already sports are not personality contests

his best would definitely beat any version of jay

he would beat dorian in 92, 94, 96, and 97 for sure

he would beat ronnie in 2001 and 2002

Opinions Vary - Not a Chance Phil would’ve beaten 2009 Jay.
Also as Time moves on you would expect the newest Mr Olympia’s to be better than
Those of yesteryears Wouldn’t you - > Progress it’s called 🙄

No doubt Phil had a great physique at times mainly in his 1st few yrs as Mr Olympia.

what was so special about 2009 jay?  other than that NON MANDATORY quad stomp pose?  he brought conditioning that phil brings every year only phil has a dense and detailed back while jay has wrinkles, what poses does jay win other than abs and thighs?

as for progress every sport has many people dwelling on the past, we have basketball fans today that think larry bird was better than lebron

Like I Previously said Opinions Vary.

You like Heaths physique good for you.
He has some outstanding body parts for sure overall for Me his best doesn't stack up
Against Prime Dorian / Ronnie / Jay. & I could add a few more from the 90’s to early 2000’s

Who cares - Lets see how he looks at this years Mr O as that’s what matters as to where
He will place.

I get where your coming from in regards too Any version of Cutler beating a prime heath I’m not sure it’s a structural issue or height issue in regards Heath when comparing him too others like Coleman, Yates etc, thinking out of square I think a Phil Heath @ 5ft 11 could be a totally different perspective when lining him up against the other bb greats whatever the case there’s no debate he is the best of his era hands down.

His 2011 version could push anyone in history right too the brink (structural/height) regardless...but  a 5ft 11 Phil Heath with the same conditioning/shape/size could probably have beaten them all.

“IF” only Phil is nowhere near 5ft 11in he’s more likely 5ft 7 - 8 at best.
And IF your aunty had Balls she’d be your uncle.

“If” I got all the Lottery No.s I’d be a multi millionaire - “IF”

you guys turn bodybuilding into a personality contest the same way women do for an election rather than going by the actual facts, so who here is really butt hurt?

this is only getting beat by ronnie, that's it the facts don't care about your feelings :-*

settle down settle down your response is what I’d expect of a 16 year old not a mature man like you said opinions are varied it was a hypothetical response too a common enology in a age old debate of eras while on the subject of opinions in regards too facts instead of hypothetical Both Lee Haney and Coleman are better than Heath and the rest however there’s a million opinions that say otherwise
