You are right this is billed as a bodybuilding and fitness board. I joined in 2007 hoping to pick up so tips on bodybuilding and to share my experiences as an amateur, longtime and now mature bodybuilder, (I started lifting at age 16). I've some experience with the use of steroids (back when they were still prescribed by doctors and were they were legal). Also, I've been on TRT for many years now.
Unlike you, I have never competed. Probably because I wasn't ambitious enough to bring myself to that level and because bodybuilding was more of a hobby than a vocation. I married at age 20 and became a father at 22. My family was and still is what is most important to me.
What I quickly discovered was that many folks here were/are apparently more interested in the Gossip and Opinions forum and only occasionally did anyone post gossip or an opinion that had anything to do with bodybuilding, fitness or bodybuilders. All that is fine, but it is not what I expected when I joined.
You don't agree with my politics and that's cool. It would be a hell of a world if everyone was on the same page politically, IMO. I was raised in a liberal household, married a woman who shared my liberal outlook. My friends are a mixture of liberal and conservative thinking people. The only thing that is important to me is that my friends are good people at heart, regardless of their political or social stance.
Anyway, I get that you think the board is dying because it isn't enough about bodybuilding and fitness, but I am not responsible for that. So whether I post here or not really makes no difference. Incidentally, thanks for starting that thread, it is definitely interesting so see my standing on Getbig. I am somewhat surprised so many people have defended my staying on Getbig and have a relatively good opinion of me.
