Strict curl challenges everywhere
« on: August 13, 2020, 11:50:39 AM »
Anybody up for a strict curl challenge on here? With everyone doing it we should do it.everyone post a video and put in some cash and winner takes all.

Would liven this place up and be fun at the same time.

We could set a time so everyone can train for it for say a month.Even if no money just something to do.

Anyways just food for thought as I’m very bored lately.

None of these isolation exercises are good for the joints when done super heavy and super strict.

Curling will become a part of powerlifting contests soon.  There are already bench only and bench & deadlifting contests.

would be fun if people lifted here. they dont.

we have english  professors who want to talk about grammer and spelling
we have scientists who want to talk about viruses
we have gays who want to talk about politics
we have agitators who want to belittle evereything

but darn it, not lifters  even on a bodybuilding forum. strange isnt it?

videos? lol they wouldnt show themselves ever

coordinate a time? they cant show up for a job. they cant show up for anything.  wont work on here with this crowd.
i would like to see something thats easier to agree on like say just pushups.  you see bicep curls have to  much room for what constitutes a correct curl. you would be arguing about it till you got tired and never started the challenge

push ups would be much easier. no knees on floor. straight and level back. down to floor all the way up locking out. no pumping half reps.

that would be a little easier. the challengers post video holdig a card  with time and date written on it. then do the push ups.

i would do this and would participate. it would probobly only be you and me though.

And the result will be many torn biceps.

that English professor crack is directed at me, you are right i actually do have a college degree in English. however my actual strict curl was 155 lbs while standing up against a  concrete wall at 185 lb body weight. i did this when i was 19 years old. here's a pic at nineteen. you owe me 100 bucks. ;) i know i suck, but you got to remember i used no steroids vitamins or supps. just a bad diet alcohol and hard training. and now 50 years later here i am 8 hip replacement and open heart surgeries later on a bodybuilding board arguing with a total stranger over ridiculous stuff.

No doubt but powerlifting has a lot of injuries anyway.

Strict curl was actually the 3rd lift in many Powerlifting / Odd lift contests from the 50's - mid 60's, it wasn't until around '65 that they replaced it with the Deadlift, and standardized Powerlifting competitions. Even up through the 90's, it was a little common to see the strict curl as an extra prize money worthy lift at many contests.

If I had to guess, it also attracted extra money to the meets. Lots of arm wrestlers, bodybuilders, and average joes that didn't care for Powerlifting would try the curl portion.

Everything old is new again.

the english professor comment wasnt directed at you funk. lots of weirdos mention spelling on the internet. reason i have that catagory of weordos listen because its absurd, that people concentrate on it. its a diversion tactic they use to avoid reasoning, or dealing with reason. they cant do it, so they go to the spelling technical angle. which is  funny.

thank you for the pic. but ill require a pic that only 2 decades old at the most .

you provided 5 decades old pic. i dont believe you owned a camera in such a time period.

ill accept 2 decades old pic.  remember when you used a camera in the 1995-2010  range and it put the date and time on the picture? lets try that. surely you have one of those.

well props to you for the posting of the pic. most simply wont do it.

i think its the bowl haircut, dark black hair that looks chinaman. the glasses dont help

i dont think your looking at the contest i competed in.

i won the overall as a light heavy.  was 191  at prejudge. 5'9

i was 38 in 2015

i competed from 2002-2015

won 1 st place in my class few times. but only the one overall in my last contest. Bodybuikding now would be easier, as most have fled to the legless class.(physique)

winning a  open bodybuilding show would be much easier now i believe. but i have no intention of that now. not after spinal fusion.

From that pic I would definitely say you look Asian funk but whatever.just the dark hair and look of blurry face maybe.

no not a pro, but the guy i beat in the overall is now a pro. I had no intention of going past my goal. which was just to win a state title. i had had enough. mentally and  physically was just not willing to keep going.

contest was 2015  NPC Idaho Muscle Classic  craigs productions. same people that run the emerald cup. great people.

I'm always up for a challenge, but how about a spin-challenge?

Who can spin the most times on hendas hairy chest while shouting "WEEEEEEEEE!"?

Will his chest be heavily oiled cause with how hairy it is we won’t spin much, but I’m game.
