NFL season, will they have it?
« on: August 13, 2020, 12:27:13 PM »
As most of you know college football has been bailing out conference by conference. some out some still in. They waited till now to decide?

The NFL says it will have a season. With fans

baseball has no fans

hockey no fans

How will the NFl be immune?  I really hope they have fans. Id like to go to a Miami game.

You think the NFL will have a season and fans?

Will the Olympia allow fans?  177.00 a ticket

No way in hell football cancels its season. The NFL is a POWERHOUSE and will have this season if everyone tests positive. My only concern is what if a super star like Brady or Brees test positive before a big game or even the Super Bowl?

A lot of teams have already come out saying there will be no fans. I think Jerry Jones is the only one who has said that he will try to have some fans. Although things are always changing.

And I’ve read that some teams are considering putting their QB in a bubble for the season.

I hope you are right. I need to watch football on sundays again to feel some sense of normalcy again.

I think they need to seriously challenge the validity of these tests. they seem to come up positive for everyone. lots of false positives too.

Lots of players have opted out. They dont want the headache of their  lives, families lives friends lives, ruined over some test thats not even valid.

I was getting xrays at a doc office ealier this week and heard the lady calling people to comfirm apts. she asks if they have the rona, if their family has the rona, their friends or anyone they know has the rona.  fucking absurd.

this is why some have opted out. lots of training and hard work just to get "tested"  is the test even valid? people need to challenge the tests.

Meanwhile, how many of us know someone who died from this scamdemic?

Does anyone here feel they lost more friends or loved ones in 2020 compared to 2019?  I doubt it.

I'm beginning to think the whole thing is just a psy-op.

The 30% GDP loss in the USA and something like 20%+ GDP loss in Canada are both very real though.

It won’t be canceled but the viewership will take a shit because they’re promoting the fake BLM narrative and most will tune out. NBA and MLB openers the ratings tanked. Good. Fuck em’ for promoting such bullshit

I bet 98% if they players will kneel the first week.

I think the best thing to do would be for all the players kneel the first week, creating a  protest that has more meaning, than it does if you kneel all season long. Then after game 1 back to normal so we don’t have to go through this crap all season.

Because when does it stop?

I think Baltimore said they’re allowing 15,000 fans per game in the stadium. That’s like 20% capacity for a stadium that sells out every game.

Fuck the NFL.  I hope they COVID up and crap out.   For the greater part these
"professional" athletes are nearly as fucking bad as Hollyweirdos.

I feel like the majority of people watch sports to escape politics and daily BS in search of exciting entertainment. My team is finally playoff contenders which I’ve been waiting for the last 20 years, and I’m the least excited I’ve been about football that I can remember. I don’t want to hear political opinions from low IQ individuals like Desean Jackson. Just play the game and take your oversized paycheck.

Are college footballers paid professional. I'm guessing no, that plus a likely insurance issue is possibly the reason why it's been cancelled.

NFL won't have that issue but the players will likely have an individual opt out option. Basically the same as a normal worker being asked to return to work by their employer.

If fans attend it will be like how they are doing distancing with cinema seating and they will be told no screaming  or shouting.

Also viewership will actually increase for the NFL because there will be no other football.

And all it takes is one. These people don't get it. People that don't give a shit have not had family or friends die from this.

I can't imagine how it could change someone's perception of the virus, when it hits close to home.

College players don’t get paid. The opt out deadline is done for the NFL players. The Pats lost 3 starters but most teams’ didn’t get affected that much. It generally was guys who would be in contact with family who had heath issues. If you were a player with those reasons the opt out money was more than if you didn’t. I think they got 350 grand vs 200.

The opt out money is 350k for verified health risks, and 150k for just an opt out.

Guys like Dontae Hightower (linebacker for the Patriots) and Nate Solder (former Patriot and current Giants left tackle) are willing to Lose millions. Solder and his son both had Cancer, so I believe he qualifies for the 350k opt out, but Hightower was due to make 8 million this year. Now he get 150k instead? Maybe money isn't everything to certain people. Good for them.

Their contracts get pushed back a year so it’s not like they really lose out.

That’s correct

The main thing they lose is time in their prime

Which doesn’t last long

I would sit out too if I were in their shoes

No reason to train so hard just to get shut down

Thanks for the info fellas.

Also TV broadcasters will be running short of new programming, so I think they will stagger the games out so there is very little overlap with games being on at the same time. There could possibly be a game or 2 taking place every weekday and the rest spread out across the weekends.

Semi tempted to get on some NFL stock as the increase in coverage and viewership will cause a jump in price at some point.

Love seeing euro homos talk about American sports

Footballers? It’s not soccer

College plays on Saturday  would have never interfered with NFL

NFL plays on Sunday Monday Thursday

Only Saturday’s in the play offs

No one gives a rats ass about “ broadcasters”

Stick to cricket and soccer

You're obviously the homo expert so I won't question your judgment on this.

How many Euro homos have you had?

Since the NFL, MLB, NBA and now a few hockey guys are engaging in leftist politics they have been turning off fans. Last I heard is the NFL is going to use computer CGI to fool the tv viewer that they have people in the stands and fake crowd sounds to appear as if the game has an audience. My prediction is the ratings are really going to be bad for the NFL and NBA.

I'm watching college football but I bet cable won't show the games because they are not following the edicts of the liberals. The Big 10 said they won't play but the big 12 said they will. The big 12 will cave if they don't have tv contracts.
