While I wasn't able to watch the entire Democratic National Convention, I did capture about 30-45 minutes of fleeting moments and I must say it was a very poor showing. Honestly, I haven't seen such obvious, self-serving propaganda in quite some time. The whole event felt like a very cheap black lives matter event with Joe Biden serving as the peripheral emcee. Not to mention that it felt as if the entire event was pre-recorded with different individuals having recorded questions for Biden, which then in turn allowed Biden to answer those questions at his own pace and with a lot of coaching, to then by using the magic of Hollywood all footage was put together in a seamless way, which made it seem as if it was happening in real time. It was truly a made-for-tv event in that the entire thing reeked of fake.
Some moments worth mentioning:
One of the speakers detailing her account of her father's passing. Father was a 65 year old, who during May while the covid-19 restrictions were reduced, decided to go out with friends to do a night of karaoke. Following this event, the father was hospitalized and intubated for 5 days. Immediately after this five-day hospitalization, the father passed away. The daughter had to throw in the fact that her father was a healthy 65 year old male only having a pre-existing condition described as trust in Trump. She then went on to say that it was this same trust in Trump that led to her father's death. If this isn't the dirtiest example of pandering to the feeble-minded masses, then I don't know what is.
Then there was Michelle Obama's claim to the idea that you have to vote for Biden as if your life depended on it, because it does.
Lastly, another bullshit piece, which ultimately is what caused me to turn off the TV, involved George Floyd's brother. This guy had the audacity to paint George Floyd as some type of selfless, loving, altruistic and humanitarian figure that was a gift to humanity. His cheap attempt at trying to make a martyr of his brother was the dirtiest part of the entire event. He must have forgotten that the man was a known convict that spent half his lifetime under the influence of illicit drugs and had quite the decorated rap sheet that most recently included robbing a pregnant woman at gunpoint while his friends ransacked her home. This is when I decided that enough was enough and had to turn off the TV.
Brace yourselves gentlemen, because if the face of dementia and his running mate who suffers from a racial and political identity crisis win, then we are in line towards the beginning of the downfall of the USA.
