I know it is in Asia but ask any Arab, or Indian or anyone really not from Oriental countries and none would say they're asian or associate with being asian.  But now Kamala is promoting herself as being asian thinking she can appeal beyond her Indian roots.

I agree with that.  Out of curiosity, do you know if Indians have a term for the Asian subcontinent that would be different from what they call "Asia"?

Maybe it's like Sicilians - technically, they are Italian, but I heard they find it offensive to be called Italian, and prefer to call themselves Sicilians.  Even in Sicily, it is understood that Sicily is a part of Italy.

There is no Asian Subcontinent. It's the Indian subcontinent. They are usually referred to as South Asians.

There are only a handful of countries there and they generally do not like being grouped together by people because there are huge religious/cultural divides, as well as recent wars and ongoing border disputes between them.

I know a shitload of Indians growing up and today and I've never heard one ever consider themselves Asian.  Sure their country is in Asia but they never say they're Asian yet this Kamala Harris is calling herself half Asian.

We all know when you say Asian, you're referring to Chinese people.  Whoever in their life said they're craving Asian food and head out for Indian cuisine?  Fuck, look at that Hot Asian thread, how many Indians in that?
