Can’t say for sure but there are rumors that it was the latter.

Credit where credit is due: Joe does a good job. He graciously responded to a private message and offered guidance on exercises to help alleviate or reduce chronic pain associated with an injury. He didn't need to do that, especially considering how often we butt heads on here. If I didn't live across the country from him I'd seriously consider working with him to help me get back in shape. Tenured professors tend to develop a gut.

Coach is a good man and knows how to train anyone from football players to bodybuilders, etc.

Most Americans were not interested in the DNC

Most Americans don’t seem to have been much more interested than de Blasio, with the Democrats’ convention drawing a shockingly low TV audience — “America’s Got Talent” drew more viewers than night two of the Democratic Convention.

Then again, “America’s Got Talent” has talent. The Democratic Convention was notably lacking in that department. Oh, there were moments. On the important subject of criminal justice reform, the Democrats gave us Donna Hylton, who was convicted for her role in the kidnapping, rape, torture and murder of a 62 year old man. It takes a certain talent to come back from that and serve as a DNC speaker. Likewise, we saw Linda Sarsour, the Women’s March founder who was ousted for antisemitism, though the Biden campaign quickly disavowed her — after she spoke.

I don't know what ratings they got. I don't think there were any huge fails or any huge wins. The last day, with all the tributes (surprise appearance by John McCain from beyond the grave! At least they didn't bring him back as a hologram, Tupac style!) honestly felt like a funeral, with Biden eulogizing himself.

Let me reiterate how sad and contemptible it is that the two candidates for President are basically octogenarians.

If the DNC’s ratings were better it didn’t do them any good. By all accounts, the race has been tightening and Biden didn’t even get a bump.

What does it say about us as a country that the only people who, broadly speaking, we feel are competent to lead us are so old that they were born closer to the end of the U.S. civil war than the present day? For fuck's sake, in 1946 Ho Chi Minh had just gotten elected President of North Vietnam, Alcatraz was in use as a prison and the bikini hadn't yet been invented.

It adds insult to injury that they both try to portray themselves as virile men, in touch with the times and with the vision to lead this country forward.

What’s more, the life expectancy for a male in the US is around 74 years. I don’t think it’s wise to elect a man that is, from a statistical standpoint, already dead.
