An indictment does not mean guilty however.

It just means there is enough evidence to justify proceeding to trial where guilt or innocence will be determined.

Probably because it’s doubtful that anyone on this board actually paid into the scam.

If it’s found he embezzled money from this fundraiser, he should be held to whatever punishment is the maximum the law allows. Stealing, especially a large amount and done so methodically, should be punished to the full extent.
