I think saying that stems from The days before the nonces were kept separate for their Own protection, during the strangeway riot/protest in 1990 some inmates used the opportunity to break into the pedo/rapist wing, one Sex offender died from his injuries, rumours that several were forcibly castrated were Later denied
Probably, they do a good job of separating offenders these days.  It does not look good for the Warden or the state when a prisoner is killed by other inmates and usually prison employees are fired over it.

There was a case in a Georgia private prison where an inmate was set on fire and burned about 10 years ago.  The Feds went in and cleaned things up and a lot of heads rolled (the employees not the guy burned ;D).  It was Coffee Correctional Facility.

Well, inmates DEFINITELY look down on sex offenders and talk wild shit behind their back.  But at the same time, they will let that scumbag workout on the same bar as them or sit with them and eat. 
I can say with 100% certainty, that drugs infiltrate every prison in NYS in VERY large numbers! Yes, we know every trick in the trade, but it's more and more difficult every year to stop them from coming in.  K2 is the #1 drug in prison, and it's due to the fact that it pretty much looks like paper and can get into the facility from either the mail room or with legal mail.  Nearly impossible to prevent, trust me. 

I've seen more of these idiots look juiced up than the guys that I know from the street that are ACTUALLY juiced to the gills and look like dog shit.  These same cons swear and whey protein,amino acids and sleep are the secret.   


I was a Corrections Officer for a brief two years almost 40 years ago at a max prison. I know many think they know about prisons but the crazy things I heard about prisons is bull shit. Here are few. There is honor among criminals and they hate sex offenders. Nope, they couldn't care less. Drugs are all over the place. Nope it's extremely rare. Corrections knows every trick of how they get drugs in there. Here's one I've heard from guys that never have set foot in prison. They have steroids all over the place. They are stripped naked. Told to bend over and open their ass cheeks many times a month. Their cells are searched on a regular basis.

Getting back to the lifters there. The physiques were amazing. Ripped and large. Maybe not steroid bloated large but seriously impressive. One little white guy was about 5'5".  He was ripped with amazing abs. Striations in his chest. He said the minute he leaves prison he goes back to drinking and drugs on the streets. He said I don't look like this on the outside. He got three meals a day. Plenty of sleep and all day to train. Seen another guy weighing about 180lbs do a deep squat with 700lbs. He had no idea about training. He just trained hard. He was doing life. I wonder if he died there or was eventually released? In NJ life means about 35 years in prison.

Doing thousands of pushups, pullups, squats and other exercises while sleeping 12 hours a day is the secret.

The biggest people I've ever met that were exceptionally strong were big eaters and lifted a ton of volume.  I trained in with some guys who were into strongman many years ago, i know most of them were juiced but a couple didn't seem to be.  These guys ate everything in sight and trained for 2-3 hours 4-5 days a week, but their intensity was varied, not all workouts were heavy or intense.  This is where i learned progressive loading and speed versus max effort.  They very rarely lifted above the 80% ME range, most lifts were compound sets focused on explosive speed.  Lots of heavy carry exercises, grip holds, loading relays and pulling exercises.  One guy had a small farm and on the weekends they would carry logs and bags of sand.  Nothing you typically consider a bodybuilding workout.  But these guys were strong as hell.  Would eat 6k calories a day easily but a lot of fast food, they weren't big into health.  They were a bit fat, but they would cut weight for power lifting and strongman competitions; most of them were around 250-280 but would compete around 220-242.

The guys you see lifting crazy weights these days are on a shitload of drugs, it's insane.  If you just look at the weight fluctuations in most strongmen like Eddie Hall, Shaw and Thor you will notice.  They always claim to be "cutting" or "taking of lifting" for while, but in all seriousness they are taking time off from the drugs so they don't have a heart attack.  Plus they are monitored by doctors and know when to push and when to chill out.
