Love those late 60s muscle cars.

I was a kid then and my older brother and his friends would bring their muscle cars over to the house.

My problem with these cars is that I don't have the open space to drive and truly appreciate the full extent of what these cars have to offer.

Living in a major city that's overpopulated doesn't allow me to take advantage of what this kind of car or any other muscle car has to offer. It's practically a beefed-up luxury that serves me no purpose, since I will arrive at every destination that I seek to drive to in the exact same time as I could arrive driving a standard Toyota Prius.

While I can appreciate how awesome this car looks and possibly drives, short of impressing other men, I see no other purpose to it. You try to get a solid 2-3 minutes of high speed to this puppy on any major highway and you'll either hit heavy traffic, crash into another car, get clocked by a speeding camera or run right into a state trooper. What's worse, in NYC this results in monthly parking lot fees and and a high price tag for quality gasoline.

Very true.  They are impractical.  You can only drive it to it's limit on a track.

1966 Cobra 427 in street trim is the ultimate to me.....the purist's muscle car. American engineering excess as art.

This car is not a great example. Would I love to own it? You bet. At 58 years old this is my top 3 favorite muscle car. The top 3 changes ever so often because there are a lot of great muscle cars from the late 60 early early 70's but this is always on the list. This one would probably be too much for the average driver. But damn. Come on.. its a sweet car!

They’ve  really seem to nail modern day muscle cars. They have the old-school lines with the new school performance.

Those old muscle cars were slugs compared to today's beasts.

Great for their time though and the sound of those big V-8s...

You feel the power more in the old cars off the line for me anyways. The power slams you in your seat so hard because obviously today’s cars are much smoother and suspension better but I’d rather feel 500 horses in a old car than in a new one where it’s just smooth. Also the old v8 sound is much better.

Old-school cars were more mechanical: Distributors, carburetors. Today everything is computerized.
