was he really that big of a star? never heard of him until he died, was his life more important because he's black or what?

I'm with you - though I’d seen some of his films, prior to his death I couldn’t recall his name. I actually thought he was one of those British actors getting American parts.
I have since learned that he was diagnosed with stage III colon cancer in his late 30s. He had numerous surgeries and procedures that he kept it to himself, and he just kept on keeping on.
Countless people suffer and die every day, and he was one who suffered with dignity. Comments about him from all corners show he affected folks.
One of my sons is a stuntman and has worked with Boseman’s stunt double, and he's only heard great things about him.
Here he is breaking up over the deaths of two kids with terminal illnesses, who had hoped to see Black Panther. He was already a couple years into his ailment, so I can’t imagine what he was thinking and feeling.
