On a serious note, in terms of asserting authority with respect to not being legally required to wear masks in Canada [with a legal medical exemption, which I *do* have, even though it's more of an excuse for me, since the mask doesn't bother me due to my autism - only loud noises do, because I have basically "super hearing"], we can't legally be asked what the medical exemption is.
So NO ONE needs to be wearing masks - I think the only legally-binding exception to this that can ne legally enforced would be those working in the healthcare field, or at elderly homes, be they assisted living homes, or even independent living seniors homes.
And I honestly CANNOT STAND hearing people say "OMGZ, wear the mask to save the people."
With under 10,000 Covid-19 deaths in Canada in total so far since the first case on January 25th from a Chinese man who arrived in Toronto from WUHAN, CHINA, WHERE THE VIRUS ORIGINATED [Gee, who could have seen THAT coming?

under 1,000 of those Canadian deaths being deaths were caused DIRECTLY from Covid-19, and only 22% of THOSE cases were among people under the age of 70...and currently [as of yesterday] there were/are only a reported 49 people in critical care [ICU's] in Ontario right now due to Covid-19 [presumably on respirators in the ICU - but serious cases, to be sure]. So exactly WHY are we still willing to destroy the economy over this?
Over $300B+ in economic loss in the second quarter of 2020, over 1,000 people who died. So, what, $250-400 MILLION spent because not even 1,000 people died directly of this virus? WOW, sounds like a completely proportional and reasonable fiscal response to the devastating health damage suffered by Canadians thus far from Covid-19.
Prior to 2020, I felt that Canadians were uniquely the stupidest people in the world. Not in terms of IQ average...but just...in terms of wokeness literally possessing their souls. I felt Swedes and Americans and Brits were all in a race to the bottom with Canada, but if you pressed me - I would have said that Canadians were winning that race.
Now I'm not so sure. It's like the entire world has gone batshit within the span of a year. Not grasping that we have this thing called an "immune system", that comes in handy in case of, you know, viruses, germs, diseases...stuff like that.
harmankardon1 - sorry for the long post! I like your posts, and you are a good guy to talk to, which gets me into the groove of writing a lot to Getbiggers like you, lol. Feel free to ignore any of my lengthy replies to you though, lol! I have come to terms with the fact that I am simply WAY to wordy in posts, and way to verbose in person...but I don't talk politics or religion in person unless someone else brings it up...and then IT'S ON...and I don't shut up.
harmankardon1, how are things going for COVID in your neck of the woods? Is it as insane there as it is in Canada? I'm just grateful that, at least for now, federal law trumps ANY and EVERY mandate that provinces, municipalities, and the Ministry of Health have put in place for mask-wearing, and that if our current politicians try to change that, they will run into some HEAVY Charter breaches in the process, and it will be held up in court for a while [hopefully], at which time if they ARE finding any success legally in changing the law - our actual charter - that by then, the public will not likely still be buying it.
You can't make people stay afraid of a virus that the average person doesn't even know anyone who knows anyone who knows anyone who died or even became seriously ill over it.
Seriously, this will not hold up. Covid-19, while not nothing, is simply not lethal enough to keep people in chains in their own homes.
The Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms is Canada's Constitution. It's garbage. But, I digress! I always digress. It is SUBJECTIVELY written, unlike the American - much BETTER constitution, which is objectively written. Canada's Charter, for example, says that we have freedom of expression, if our expression is "reasonable".
Yeah, because that's not opinion to opinion and completely subjective or anything.
