OMR, I'm impressed. You've obviously had some medical training/knowledge bestowed upon you. What is your profession?
I'm an accountant. Prior to pursuing accounting, I was pre-med, took the MCATs and everything, but decided against med school to pursue business school instead.
Over the better part of the last 20-30years, I've always kept up with medical literature. I read up on the latest updates in distinct medical disciplines (Neurology, Cadiology, Gastroenterology and Internal Medicine). I have an active subscription to Up-to-date, have the latest publications of Harrisons internal medicine and read up on all the latest medical literature that's put out on pubMed and NIH.
Stroke pathology interests me tremendously, as does overall vascular disease that effects the heart, lungs and brain.
In another life, I would serve as an internal medicine doctor (say a hospitalist) at a major academic hospital within a large city like New York.
Instead, I deal with the pathology of personal and commercial accounting & finances.
