It wasn't that, Trump didn't have a political record to criticize....just his businesses which for the most part was just discarded.   Now he has a political record and he can't do that anymore.

Good point, the shoe was on the other foot this time. Separate issue but I wonder if Biden was on something tonight? I got the impression it was starting to wear off towards the end.

Yeah, you're right. That was probably more important. But I don't think Trump wins 4 years ago if he ran against a man.

They are in their 70's...of course they are both on something...blood pressure pills, medication, etc  Biden was just getting tired of being interuppted repeatedly and I can't blame him

Hillary would have likely won if Comey hadn't announced that investigation 3 days before the election....something that he should have known better to do.  Comey practically steered that win towards Trump

we saw nothing from trump's personality that we haven't seen a billion times before, now you want to act like it's a problem?\\

that's the reason people like him, he comes off as real and not some slimeball fake politician

E

Yes, this is the argument that they are making at Fox. That this will energize his base. You don't need to energize his base. Virtually everybody that is voting for Trump is enthusiastic about their choice at a level never before experienced. Even with Reagan. They can't wait to cast their vote for him. Trump didn't lose a single supporter with his performance. But it's the fence sitters that we want. And I don't know if he convinced anybody that's still vacillating.

You know what I mean Vince. Something extra to spice him up a bit, bring life to his weary bones. He was not the mental wreck Trump had expected. Not saying they injected him with 96% pure cocaine but who knows what they use in the top political circles?

maybe she would've won if she stopped talking about which bathroom a dude in a dress could use

I'm disappointed in trump he was not on his game tonight, that said Biden didn't win either imo...

Biden was weak and didn't have anything real to say just like the dems as a whole.

had trump been more relaxed and allowed joe to speak it would have gone better as trump came off overly agreesive and insecure at times of his presidency. Joe countered trump with some lies that would have stuck for some feeble minded viewers.

But trump did get joe a few times too. I think most people have made up their minds anyway tbh.

E

You counter my points by claiming tonight helped Trump. Take a moment and let that sink in. Seriously

"ANTlFA IS AN IDEA, NOT AN ORGANIZATION". The people who had their businesses looted, burned etc will remember that statement.

Vince do you support Biden because you're not brining up anything Trump did well. I thought he did well with the transition of power question and law and order.

Trump beat Trump....he broke the rules of the debate repeatedly over and over again and thought because it was Fox News moderating that he could get away with it...WRONG!!!

Damn Vince! Stop making sense.

Agree on this last point, trump wasn't scoring many new votes with this performance.

Trump failed to hammer points that were his to easily win, opting instead to interrupt Biden constantly and engage in personal attacks. He seemed unprepared.

Biden misspoke frequently but managed to get his rehearsed, camera addressing points across. Viewers would have noticed how crappy his policies are and how he can't string a sentence together if Trump hadn't been so busy making an ass of himself.

Biden didn't win it. Trump lost it.

Which is why he won. Expectations were so low that all Biden had to do was not lose.

this is 2020

i don't know how anybody could possibly still be using debates to make their decision other than some old man that takes pride in not adapting to new technology, and those guys typically lean republican

anybody still "sitting on the fence" probably never votes and doesn't care

Not everyone is good at connecting the dots or even cares. A lot of people will just watch debates like this and vote on personality/who they feel more comfortable with.

One of the main reasons Hilary lost. A lot of American voters just aren't comfortable with a woman in charge.

This.

i got the feeling Trump figured there would only be one debate (Dems would pullout) so he purposefully railroaded this one to shut down the Democratic sound bites. He neutralised Biden pretty damn well.

If you look at it without bias, it is painfully clear Biden was unable to actively debate. If you removed Trump talking over the top it would have been clearer that Biden was talking nonsense.

I saw it as a horrid outcome for Biden. Trump had good answers. I wasn't a fan of his interruptions but i get why he did it.

Not at all, he definitely could have done better. Was he holding back? Was it because Wallace kept interrupting Trump and letting Biden speak more? You knew Biden was in trouble when he was taking personal shots at Trump by calling him names. Not exactly scoring points there

Come on, Coach. It was Trump interrupting Wallace. Wallace tried to honor the two minute time limit but Trump kept talking over him. Watch it again and count the number of times Trump kept talking over Wallace and ignoring the rules. Take note of who actually got more speaking time.

We want to win and you have to put personal feelings and bias aside.

Searching for an answer....all those ticks are to allow time to think.

Trump never follows the rules in politics or debates...no surprise on that.

These supposed "undecided" voters....I would argue they represent the least in number ever in an election thanks to the hard left.

You can't decide if you want to wear a mask for years and shut everything down? You can't decide whether it's okay to loot and riot and defund the cops? Seriously?

Read through the thread. You have guys like Vince, Pellius, Harman and myself, all looking at this debate from different leanings and from completely different parts of the World and we are all saying very similar things about how the debate went down.

I think all 4 of us all would rather see Trump win the elections, but it's pretty much unanimous. Tonight was a bad night for Trump. If it makes it feel better it was a bad night for Biden too, just worse for Trump.

Look at betting markets if you want unbiased "polling". The betting markets favoured Biden tonight.

I think it was 240 I used to explain this to and now we have Trump who has been under attack his whole presidency. I was not surprised at him continuing to attack, interrupt etc.  But I still think some good points he made are being overlooked based on style points. Oh well this place has turned into another twitter type forum.

but you are still going to vote trump right?

that's my point when i said it didn't hurt him, debates are for entertainment in 2020 they don't change votes

the popular opinion in 2012 was romney beat obama in the first debate, that didn't change too many minds
