'Thin privilege' (oh brother)
« on: October 03, 2020, 09:10:34 AM »
Cliffs:

-  It's OK to call someone fat, because it's not offensive
-  Except it is - so don't
-  Fatphobia is linked to slavery
-  Non-fat people have "thin privilege"  ::)

How long til fat-shaming is classified as hate-speech?

#fat lives matter

"This Curve Model Wants You to Stop Thinking the Word Fat Is Offencive(sic) — It's Not

Kendra Austin, a 26-year-old curve model, wants to talk to you about fatphobia. "Fatphobia is the social stigma and consequential systemic oppression of visibly fat people," she told POPSUGAR. "The consequences of such stigma ranges from being bullied on playgrounds, in workplaces, and on dating apps to having health concerns ignored by doctors and fatality."

Austin said that if you've grown up as a fat child, you've grown up with fatphobia. "You most likely became the 'funny' or 'smart' friend in order to deflect and prove you were useful for consuming so much physical space," she said. "You probably were ashamed of eating in front of people who think fat people are gluttonous, so you did so in privacy and shame. You probably started dieting very early knowing that fat people are simply not desired or loved the same ways."

In the United States, Austin continued, "we expect poor people to eat poorly, we expect poor people to not afford nutritious foods and have undesirable sleep schedules due to low-income work shifts, we expect people who eat and sleep poorly to be fat, we expect poor people to be brown or Black, we expect brown and Black people to eat poorly and to be fat, and we blame all of our healthcare issues on those people without ever stopping to ask why we expect these relationships. It's not coincidental, I'll tell you that much."

Austin recommends reading Fearing the Black Body: The Racial Origins of Fat Phobia by Sabrina Strings, PhD, assistant professor of sociology at the University of California, Irvine. Through Strings's research for her book, she identified that fatphobia has ties all the way back to the slave trade when eating and body size became characteristics of racial identity to differentiate between who were slaves and who were free.

Another thing? Austin doesn't want to see people who do not identify as fat calling themselves or others fat. "The word is not for you and perpetuates dysmorphia when coming from those of thin privilege," Austin concluded."

She should be hung in the town center as an example of what happens when you are a worthless piece of shit in society.  Only problem is the rope would probably break.

This broad is far from undernourished.  The good old USA, where poor people are fat from overeating.

Some beings are so fugly they're disgusted to be alone with themselves.  This creature is one of them.

And society wants the world to coddle 'em. FTN, my brothers.  FTN.

One more point, if I may.

Many of the fatass waddlers have "piano legs". It's bad enough to appear to be smuggling cottage cheese but to do so on inverted turnips?  Again but with more feeeeeeeeeeeeeling...FTN .

They already have them.  Our society now worships weakness.

This one's for you then, Bro.  Myself - I can appreciate fat curve women as long as their top half matches the bottom half.

So this is a fail for me

(Ps - she identifies as 'queer' but I'm not genuinely not entirely sure what that means anymore - and there's no way I'm Googling it!)

The left uses the same "critical theory" playbook every time.

They invent terms like racist, homophobe, transphobe, fatphobe..... which they can label and bludgeon you with.

Then they detail how your current behaviors perpetuate their persecution and MUST be curtailed.

Finally, their whole nonsense thesis is wrapped up in Marxist terms like "systemic oppression" so that left-leaning midwit college professors will glom onto it and regurgitate it to the brainwashed debtors they propagandize to.

Apologies for the bump, but I like to keep the fatties herded up in one place...

--

A #plussize travel social media influencer demanded that airlines better accommodate larger passengers when traveling.

Jae’lynn Chaney from Vancouver, Washington, started the Change.org petition “Demand for the FAA to Protect Plus-Sized Customers,” detailing several demands to ensure larger passengers can fly without issues.  Chaney kicked off the petition claiming she and her fiancé were subjected to discrimination on a recent flight from Pasco, WA to Denver — which roughly takes just over 2 hours.  She claims other passengers refused to sit next to them, with the pair receiving “hateful comments” and “disapproving looks” while traveling.

“As plus-size travelers, my partner and I have unfortunately experienced discrimination and discomfort while flying,” the content creator wrote in her petition.

The influencer wrote it was not the first time she felt discriminated against while flying.

“On another flight, I was forced to occupy only one seat with immovable armrests that caused me pain and bruises,” she wrote, citing that when she and her fiancé purchase extra seats on their own, they are still mistreated by other passengers and airline staff.

“The FAA must require all airlines to implement a clear customer-of-size policy that prioritizes the comfort and well-being of all passengers. This policy should include clear guidelines on accommodating larger passengers, such as providing larger seats, seat belt extenders, and alternative seating arrangements,” Chaney wrote in the petition.

All plus-size passengers should be provided with an extra free seat, or even two or three seats depending on their size, to accommodate their needs and ensure their comfort during the flight,” the influencer wrote.

For plus-size passengers who purchase extra seats on their own, Chaney wants the airlines to fully reimburse their additional seats, saying this process should be “straightforward.”
👀🤔✈️

If I was an airline, and was forced into this sort of shit, the first thing I'd do is impose a pay-per-pound regime for anyone over - what?  280 or so..?
