Had the most hilarious mask confrontation
« on: October 11, 2020, 06:23:14 PM »
I went to a restaurant/bar last night with my GF. The host told us they’re running behind and they can seat us in about 20 minutes and they’ll buy us a drink on the house at the bar.  We go to the bar and they have chairs in clusters of two a few feet apart. I see this couple standing near two chairs both with masks on.  I walk over without a mask (because why would I wear a mask when I’m about to drink and eat in a restaurant) and I politely ask the lady if they’re using the chair.  She turns and looks at me and let’s put a loud “UGH” and air stiff arms me and grabs her guy and drags him to the other side of the bar.  The c unt just stood there giving me dirty looks the entire time.

I loudly say “they must be Biden supporters” and the entire bar erupts into laughter.

Why the fuck are you leaving the house and heading to a restaurant/bar of all places if you’re so fucking scared of Corona?

Ah. You must be a California resident as well.

I had a very similar confrontation. Told the man (loose interpretation of the word) not to be so afraid of dying, and to not be such a coward.

I gather this wasn't a restaurant in Oregon.

"Masks, face shields and face coverings are currently required statewide for offices and indoor public spaces (for example, grocery stores, pharmacies, public transit, personal services providers, restaurants, bars, retail stores, and more). In addition, face coverings are required in outdoor public spaces when physical distancing is not possible.

Children age 5 and up are required to wear a face covering. People with a disability or medical condition may request accommodation from the business if they cannot wear one.

Oregon’s gradual reopening does not mean the COVID-19 pandemic is over. Until further notice, restaurants and bars that reopen must:

Continue physical distancing measures for employees and customers
Require everyone to wear face coverings
Ensure tables are spaced at least 6 feet apart so that at least 6 feet between parties is maintained, including when customers approach or leave tables.
Limit parties to 10 people or fewer."

The few restaurants and bars I've visited, do not allow any seating at the bar. In fact one bar has a Plexiglas barrier and no bar stools. I think it is because a bar is only a couple of feet wide at best, so there is no way to maintain social distancing between the servers and the customers.

These rules for restaurants and bars are interesting in that it is pretty hard to follow them. Obviously you cannot eat or drink with a mask on and yet you must wear one to enter the establishment and until you are seated. Most people put their masks back on as they leave their table. The one bar I went to, won't take your order at the bar unless you have your mask on. Restaurants are a little more lax because the servers check on you to see if you need a refill and/or if your meal is okay. They wear a mask at all times. But most customers don't put their masks back on to answer the server.

One evening I went to the liquor store, got to the door and realized I'd neglected to put a mask on. It was right before closing. The clerk saw me and said it was okay to come in to make my purchase as there was no one else in the store. I went back to the car and got the mask anyway. Didn't want someone to get fired because of my carelessness.

No doubt some Getbiggers will say to ignore the requirements, it's not like you are going to be arrested if you break them. Of course, you may not get served either. It seems silly to get into a hassle over wearing a mask. There are much more important things to worry or get upset about.

This wasn't Cali but surprisingly in Georgia.

Georgia's COVID guidelines are more lax then those in Oregon. Encouraged to do something is not like being mandated to.

Georgians are strongly encouraged to wear masks, observe social distancing, and regularly wash and sanitize their hands. All Georgia businesses are encouraged to commit to the Georgia Safety Promise to help instill consumer confidence and empower business and consumers to look out for each other and themselves by taking basic, but critical, steps to help protect each other during COVID-19, and keep Georgia open for business. Learn more at: GeorgiaSafetyPromise.com .

Georgia’s “shelter in place” orders have expired for the majority of Georgia businesses. However, per statewide orders in effect through October 15, 2020, businesses must continue to operate with social distancing and sanitation rules to keep customers and employees safe. The Public Health State of Emergency remains in effect through November 9, 2020.
•  Business categories and industry-specific guidelines are included below.

Would agree but it is not just " your country".
Fuck Berlin just installed a cerfew, first since 1940's.

This fucking thing is the same in the whole civilized world.

Not surprisingly Africa and India is different... meaning too many people and too little ways of media control. Lots of infected but minuscule amount of deaths.

I would love to know the 2-6 individuals who get rich from this shit.

Exactly, it's pathetic to see how agreeable general public is. And to top it off all these ''tough'' gym rats and ''street fighters'' with masks in public to avoid potential confrontation with authoroties sicken me.

When I was younger I couldn't understand how millions of people could just "go along" with communist revolutions but in the last few years I can see how it happens. A large chunk of the population don't seem to be able to think for themselves, they merely inherit whatever outrages and social causes are signalled across the media. There must be some kind of psychological disorder behind NPC-syndrome or whatever it is. I suspect it is caused by extreme agreeableness on the personality scale; agreeableness tends to cause groupthink and virtue signalling. Women are more agreeable than men, left wing men more female-brained than other men. Highly disagreeable men are the least influenced by the media and the most immune to groupthink and brainwashing, but they are also vehemently hated by agreeable people who cannot seem to understand why anyone would think counter to the group.

I started wearing those face shields that fits like glasses. They allow you to breath and don't get sweaty when you wear them in hot weather.

I'm not sure what is happening but it seems in the last couple of weeks that people have gotten more rude and afraid about masks.  I was just at the grocery and actually was wearing a mask because they won't allow you to shop without it but this bitch wouldn't come down the same aisle I was in until I left it.  She just stood at the end giving me this impatient dirty look as I was grabbing some shit off of the shelf.  As soon as I passed her, she then went down the aisle to get her shit.

Why are people so fucking scared?  Jesus.  So the mask isn't enough but they also want the mask and distance?

Good idea. It colder and raining here. I went to the store a wore the required mask upon entering. Every single breath caused my glasses to fog up so bad that I could barely see where I was going. I may have to give the face shield a try. Either that, or start wearing contacts again.

Maybe she had the corona and didn't want to infect you. Some stores have the isles marked with directional signs. It is surprising how few people follow them. There are lots and lots of wrong way shopping cart drivers around. Not sure how they manage to drive their cars on the right side of the road.  :)

I'm pretty sure the gas chambers the Germans so nicely built for the Jews had those same arrows showing the way.

Never wear a mask
Never follow the arrows
Never social distance

Cowards are starting to agitate me.
