anecdotal.. just my .02 but based on the way too many to count friends who are real estate agents all over the country in former red strongholds they are getting flooded with blue state "refugees" who have biden bumperstickers and yard signs in their newly bought former "red" home.

The republican people who are selling aren't leaving the state, they are just "taking the money" from sky high sale prices, and running further and further in the middle of the "woods" and away from the cities no matter if that "city" is 100k people or 10k people.. they keep running and running in the same state away from populated areas and downsizing with cash in the bank

How do you oppose that realistically? It’s just like Black Lives Matter: OK, if you don’t like the way the police operate, then sign up yourself to be a police officer (and you will see what they encounter). Well, if you think teachers and their curriculum are too liberal, sign up to be a teacher. It’s pretty easy to be your own version of fair and balanced behind the closed doors of your classroom.

The bottom line is that more conservative type people sign up to be police officers and more liberal people sign up to be school teachers. That probably won’t change too soon, although it would be very healthy for them to both exchange roles for a couple/three months.

That is an interesting observation from the realtors. Therefore, it is not just that suburbanites are morphing individually from Republican to Democrat (that is definitely happening for many suburban women), but it may be just as much the fact that the Republicans and conservatives in those suburbs, turned off by what’s happening in their smaller or larger metropolitan areas, are moving further and further out into the countryside, which helps explain why those rural counties often vote 70 to 90 percent Republican.

What percentage of the country is democrat? And what percentage of those have moved to “republican” areas? With the dems moving is there data tracking what political party moved into their former neighborhood? Obviously if dems are moving into republican strongholds someone had to leave, so where did the republicans go?

But the Republican “brand” is now SHOT in CA and that exact same thing could happen down the road in places like Arizona and Texas and Georgia and North Carolina.

I agree with you that he’s not a primary issue in the election but he is a side issue and it’s very bizarre that nobody can remember ever seeing or hearing from this guy for the entirety of the campaign.

It still kills the Biden campaign somewhat. Just about a week left in the election, and they can't even run it normally without worrying that the candidate's weirdo son is going to be brought up, and maybe have Joe spaz out. Who knows what else is on there.
