Sadly, that's the new reality for most folks on trips , at events, etc.
But that's understandable , since most people live lives of quiet desperation.
I've seen a quite interesting presentation of a social scientist recently, who explained in detail how social media, cellphone-cams etc. turned humans into complete narcissistic, egozentric creatures. When you're browsing through old holiday photobooks you mailnly see pictures of the Eiffel Tower, the Statue of Liberty etc., while nowadays you always see the human itself posing in the foreground, thinking he's the center of the universe, and everything around (sights, events etc.) is just decoration for himself.
