In Oregon Governor Kate Brown is ordering a statewide freeze (shutdown) beginning next Wednesday and continuing through December 2 or longer in counties with high numbers of cases such as Multnomah County which includes Portland, Clackamas County which includes West Linn and Oregon City, Marion County which includes the State Capital, Salem and Washington County which includes Beaverton.

Although this time is not a limiting as the earlier shutdown, She is limiting bars and restaurants to take out only, close all gyms, restrict all indoor gatherings to no more than six people from two different households, limit capacity at grocery stores and pharmacies and allow churches and faith groups to accommodate indoor crowds no larger than 25. Malls, other retailers, barbershops, in person K-12 schools and approved childcare centers.

What is most annoying is that if more people would have worn masks, we probably could have avoided this shutdown.

The USA has no officially had over 150,000 positive new cases in one day ( thurs Nov 12).
This is aprox. 4x or 400% increase over the spring caseload that caused many hospitals to be stressed to the max.

The good news is a viable vaccine is on the horizon , but that's 3-6 mos away for most of us.
The best course of action is to wear a mask at indoor public places and avoid large gatherings.

I know we want to see our loved ones during Turkey Day and Christmas, but it's not safe.

I guess the masks, six feet, work and school shut downs didn't work.  Again more testing equals more cases. What numbers matter is death and hospitalizations. Now with a vaccine and people having immunity anti bodies from having the disease it will really be a manageable disease. The health care system in many US areas is stressed to the max due the recent covid outbreaks.

It's selfish to not be considerate to our men and woman working as Doc's . RN's, and health care staff, etc.

If we can just wear masks for a few more months, the new vaccines can be given and make us all safe.
