In Canada, we had Thanksgiving on October 12th.

Talked about nothing.  I prefer being alone.

Would be nice if COVID shit ended, but Canadians seem to prefer going bankrupt first.

My immediate family has drifted apart over the years due to my sister marrying a complete fuck wad. My brother and his wife are at odds with my mom and sister due to some silly things. It's kind of sad to go from a close family to barely talking anymore because of two small disagreements between adults. My brother is trying to get me to side with him, just so he can win the argument. It's all very silly. Too much pride in some of my family.

I'm going on a hunting trip with my dad that weekend.

Going to drink lots of beer and hopefully shoot some animals.

Oh, I'm sure Arnold's calf implants will be brought up at some point. And possible the "anabolic window". Seeing as most of our hunting crew are Republicans, i'm sure there will be hours of debate over the election.

Thanksgiving and Xmas, I stay home alone with the dog, nap and watch movies. (Wife and kids go to her parents).
I eat a THC edible and enjoy both food and quiet.
Holidays, another one of those "customs" people expect you to do certain things because "that's how its always been done". 

Probably good for those who don't really get to see their families. I'm not in that situation.

Sad to hear about some of the families you guys have. My clan is tight. The Italian wife puts out an impressive spread. The food put out prior to the dinner is enough to stuff you for days. She puts out shrimp, meats, cheeses, olives and an assortment of other stuff like this Italian meat pie that's unreal.

 For years we always had the Detroit Lion game on. My wife grew up as a teenager with a guy that lived across the street  that went on to play division I and play in the NFL for 7 years. It was fun for my wife to watch him play every Thanks giving. Met him in person and he is almost a cripple now.  He was a linemen and he is still a monster but his knees, shoulders and elbows  are gone along with too many concussions. My wife showed me a picture of him on the beach when he was in the NFL and he looked like a huge bodybuilder. Maybe 270 and who knows his height but he is tall. Getting back to Thanksgiving the table is impressive with all the stuff she puts out like four homemade assorted pies.

How do you get out of visiting the in-laws?  Those THC edibles are absolutely the best addition to my life these past couple years.  Especially during the covid season.
