Basically it's a poorly designed law in Wisconsin, with parts that seem to contradicted each other, and it turns out Rittenhouse was within his right to have the rifle based on a strict interpretation of the statute.

What is hilarious about this whole discussion is that whether or not he's charged with that misdemeanor is most likely of little consequence. The maximum sentence for violators is 9 months and a small fine. He's got much more to worry about then this. In fact, with all the discussion going on in court about lesser charges, it might help his case if this charge stands.

You mean trials in general, right? Kyle's trial does not hinge on whether or not he committed a misdemeanor, unfortunately.

Just curious, what part of that law is not clear in your opinion? He either had the right to carry or he didn't. Am I missing something?

With the judges latest decision which is not allowing for lesser charges, it is make it or break it for Kyle. I said it already, but I really feel for the kid....yeah, at 18 he's just a kid who did a stupid thing.

Gov. Evers authorizes National Guard troops to Kenosha following Rittenhouse trial

KENOSHA COUNTY, Wis. — Wisconsin Gov. Tony Evers announced Friday that approximately 500 Wisconsin Army National Guard troops have been authorized to support authorities in Kenosha following the trial of Kyle Rittenhouse.

Members of the National Guard will stage outside Kenosha in a standby status to respond if requested by local law enforcement agencies, officials say. The Rittenhouse trial has entered its final stages.

Maj. Gen. Paul Knapp, Wisconsin's adjutant general, said the National Guard is ready to support communities during times of need.

“In close coordination with the governor, we have assembled approximately 500 soldiers to help keep the Kenosha community safe, should a request from our local partners come in," Knapp said.

Why does what they did matter?

What you should be asking is why were they breaking curfew, meaning the law, and why were those criminals rioting?

Then I would ask why did they attack a child with a gun? A helpful citizen would help coaxed the child into handing the gun over, or they would have worked as a group to disarm him.

Instead they attacked him and he defended himself. And he tried to turn himself into the police.

How many other people did Kyle kill on his shooting rampage? Only the 3 who attacked him? Interesting.
