And what happens to Labrada Junior when they turn around and do back poses?

If Hunter was competing in the late 80’s or early 90’s he couldn’t win Nationals at this point.

You clowns are actually comparing Yates to the latest internet hyped BB? Standing side by side on stage Dorian would make Labrada look like a middleweight.

You're comparing Dorian in his actual form to Hunter in his actual form, because you didn't read my post accurately, or didn't read it at all.

I'm saying that the photo was manipulated so that Hunter looks more like Dorian.  And he does - they both look very close in the photo comparison in the OP, because Hunter is resized to be be the same height and shape as Dorian.

Have you considered reading lessons, Walter?  Maybe you should learn how to read?

You phucking phaggot?

Matt, your Asperger’s and repressed homosexuality are making you think your opinion means something around here.

Now shut the fuck up before you get bitch slapped back into playing hide and go seek on the Lakehead University campus.

Yeah, he makes a big Aspy deal out of walking down to campus and sticking his toe over the property line and then daring the University to try to sue him.

He doesn’t grasp that he is nothing more than a autistic closet homo trespasser in the eyes of the University.

The close up angle of that picture makes Hunter look as big as Dorian and he's nowhere close.

It just puts Dorians claims of "no one worked harder than me" into perspective, Dorian probably trained just hard enough, he got it right, but to claim no one outworked him just isn't true

big time agreed ^^ he trained but others trained just as hard etc etc

the dungeon also gives it the impression the training was extra hard :)

More redundant than putting on your turn signal while you sit in the turning lane.

Great point mike mentzer said Dorian didn’t train. In true h.i.t style from that time period although he

Didn’t train as heavy Shawn ray trained pretty hard levanal pressing wise especially in chest trained

Pretty hard  Cormier was pretty strong

Yates in his video from 1996 trains both strict and heavy.

Most guys do one, but not both.

Hunter had gained so much muscle so fast because, besides the calories and drugs, he does the same thing.

I would give him 5’4 max and hunter 5’8, being generous  ;D

Matt C approved

I saw both of them as well when they came down to destination to train, hunters “guru” Andrew is in the Dallas area

How is Dorian overrated?? He is like the best recent white bodybuilder ever, and Hunter looks great but that pec tear ruins his physique

Hah! I did that today while shaking my head looking at the guy next to me wearing a mask driving alone in his car with all the windows rolled up.

Some even harder. Did you see the video of Milos putting some poor guy through a leg routine? I always say that people don't train hard/intensely enough but I think there is a point where you can overdo it. Or, maybe, it's not necessary to really try to kill yourself. In others, that guy's workout would have been just as productive, maybe more so because of less systemic damage/exhaustion so better recovery, if he wasn't pushed so hard. I guarantee you that guy isn't doing that kind of workout regularly for any length of time.

Another thing that made Dorian seem like he was training so hard was all the grunting and groaning and his partner yelling and screaming.

I think Dorian made a large emotional investment into each workout and each set. That's why he felt he trained harder than anyone else. If you just look at his workout from the outside it doesn't look like anything special.
Those that love "hard training" know that there's a difference between going into the gym with a laid back attitude and doing sets to failure and beyond vs. thinking of a certain set for a week and going in all hyped up and desperate to hit a PR. The second can really drain you whereas the first might look like more work.
Another way to illustrate this is by way of powerlifting competitions. It's a maximum of 9 single lifts. Not a ton of work, not many seconds of effort, but the emotional investment can be huge, and it might take months to recover from fully.

If you look at Milos' giant sets, they are very laid back in a way, simply because you can't, by necessity, go 100% every inch of every movement. So the movements get a little sloppy and there is little grinding lifts and hard failure points, and so on. If you did giant sets like Dorian did his sets no one would survive it. Maybe one workout but not as a constant way of training.

Powerlifting is brutal, just try deadlifting 800 lbs

It's funny, but at my age (43) I realize that training at 100% full high intensity is not only counterproductive in the long run, but it is downright stupid, since you can easily throw your body into overtraining, especially if you are natty, like me. I feel like 90-95% of your intensity is best, to make more gains, for years I would go to gym with the idea of ''killing myself'' or ''training harder than anyone'' or ''being the loudest in the gym''....I'm not saying be a pussy and be a lazy ass in the gym who never makes any gains but training too hard is downright counterproductive and stupid in the long run

It's just maybe 4 seconds of max effort but it's enough to really drain you. So absolute max lifts can't really be done even once weekly for long. Ed Coan has said you only have few max lifts in your whole career so save them for the platform. I have done circa max deads weekly but it only works when they aren't real grinders.

For whatever reason, natties can actually train harder and recover/improve. I've seen it many times, nattie goes on gear and they instinctively lower volume or frequency. Maybe it's because of something the gear does to your nervous system making you able to tap into your reserves more. Who knows, but that's been my observation :D
I've seen nattie elite powerlifters do hard deadlift variations 3 times a week but never saw it with juicers.

If there's someone here who powerlifted or did strongman or whatever who went from nattie to enhanced I'd be curious as to how programming changed. Did volume and intensity or frequency increase or decrease?

I used to be a powerlifter myself, I only competed once though, but now I'm 100% bodybuilder again. I have the utmost respect for the sport of powerlfting. However, you know what you can lift and how strong you are, it's all vanity but then again everything is vanity. When I could bench the most ever I din't look bad but I definitely look better now. I fell in love with bodybuilding again, we are creating a sculpture, with vacuum pose and great proportions

Juicers can gain strength extremely fast. The whole thing disgusts me. I'm glad I remained natty for life
