Attorney Generals in battleground states blast Ken Paxton AG, Texas for challenging Biden's win. Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel, says Paxton's motion is "a publicity stunt, not a serious legal pleading." Josh Kaul, AG says, “the Wisconsin Department of Justice will defend against this attack on our democracy.” Georgia Deputy Secretary of State Jordan Fuchs said the allegation in Paxton's suit are "false and irresponsible."
The allegations in Paxton's complaint is
asking permission to file include many claims that have already been litigated unsuccessfully in state and federal courts in those states. The only thing that matters is whether SCOTUS decides to even take the case and if they do what their opinion will be.
Ken Paxton, whom the Trump campaign named a co-chair of its "Lawyers for Trump" group in July, has had legal problems of his own. Paxton was indicted five years ago on felony charges of securities fraud. Texas Governor, Republican Greg Abbott says accusations against AG, Ken Paxton "raise serious concerns." He has spent much of his public life haunted by accusations of illegal or unethical behavior. In October, top aides to Texas AG Ken Paxton accused him of bribery and abuse of office.
Paxton alleges that there are 80,000 forged signatures on absentee ballots in Georgia, but doesn't bring forward a single person who this happened to. The filing took the unusual step of listing Paxton as the attorney of record and was not signed by any of the agency's appellate lawyers.
