Trump is immature and an egomaniac everyone knows this. He’s no different than any other politician in this manner. Unless you really think Biden has spent his whole life in politics because he cares about you and me.
Trump didn’t remove the pre existing conditions from insurance providers, IF he was being motivated to do so for whatever reasons you can rest easy knowing EVERY President will face the same temptation.
Initially, many people become politicians because they do care about people and they want to make things better for them. You have to give these folks some credit. It is a thankless job. At least half of the population will despise you no matter what you do. Name any President that was loved by all. Supposedly, the most admired President of all of them is Abraham Lincoln. There was at least one person who disagreed, John Wilkes Booth.
Seems to me the longer someone is in politics, the more they pander to whoever will keep them in office. So, if it is a thankless job, why would anyone want to get re-elected? What really motivates career politicians? Well, I think the answer is not very simple. You might as well as the broader question of what motivates people to do anything at all.
The answer is that people are motivated by different things. Not every politician goes into politics or stays in politics for the same reasons. Unless you know Biden intimately, you can only guess at why he's dedicated his life to politics. Although his father was once wealthy, he ended up being a car salesmen. It is safe to say Biden Jr. came from a fairly middle class family and has managed to amass enough wealth to lead a comfortable life. One in which he surely doesn't need a President's salary to get by. Without going into all the details of his financial background, it is safe to say that he wasn't handed the silver spoon. What he has today has taken him a lifetime to achieve.
Trump's history. There's not much point in trying to figure out what motivated him to run for public office. One thing is certain, he didn't work his way up through the ranks. As best as I know Trump has only held one elected public position and that is the one he'll soon be vacating. Maybe that was what drew people to vote for him. But seriously, who would hire someone with absolutely no relevant experience to run a major world renown corporation? The answer should be, no one in their right mind.
