I already stated in the article that there is no issue with eating out or buying pre-made meals but this is a guide to reducing the cost of meals by purchasing base ingredients in bulk.  However , you indeed live off these items and you would be quite surprised as to what I can whip up.


The reason I wrote the article is for a resubmission as part of a bill to eliniminating SNAP (food stamps)into providing essential foods directly.  By doing so, it will allow poor families to be much healthier and save billions of dollars.  The majority of food stamps is used to buy junk food anyway.  You can even use food stamps at McDonalds.....complete bullshit.  Lindsey Graham thought it was a good idea when I sent him the original one but it never came to pass.  Hopefully this time will be more successful although I dont like him anymore

I think eventually one would tire of the same diet. This is all possible to do no doubt but it’s not really a life enjoyed is it? I tend to spend too much on food but I make up for it for less expenses everywhere else.

Again it’s a very well thought out article but it’s extreme, not practical. People without money will use food as a coping mechanism and let’s not forgot many count on government assistance so money for food isn’t an issue.

It’s a good example of where money can be saved just by budgeting. Keep up the good work.

I cant see where this is extreme.  I will say its more tight but far from extreme if you can read a cookbook.  I also dont care if food is used as a coping mechanism.  I dont want to use my tax dollars for someone to sit at home eating candy bar.  If they want to cope. They can do some pushups

I'd buy as many whole eggs as you can for $30 and eat only eggs... and the fast the rest of the days in between.

Pooh yes I did and it was much more extreme than this one in which I spent about 15 dollars a month.  I had to save enough money to move away from Sylva to Greenville very quickly.  No chicken....just a lot of plain bread, beans, rice and oatmeal.  I did what I had to do.
