i have received pay checks and 1099s from American Crew hair modeling back in the day so nice hair is so important haha  ;D

You have nice hair for sure.  And I thought real hair too - no doubt about it.  On top of that, I thought you were among the genetic lucky few whose hairline is impervious to the forces that cause the hairlines of so many men to recede like a retreating army, resulting in the gradual effects of male pattern baldness to emerge.

And I must say - I was rather taken aback when you said you took preemptive measures starting at age 23 to prevent losing your hair by using hair-preserving formulations to ensure you would keep your hair as you aged.

So here's my question: do you know for a fact that you even needed to use anything to keep your hair?  Not all men lose their hair, you know.  TOOTING MY OWN HORN TRIGGER WARNING: I am turning 39 next week, and I haven't lost a single follicle of hair so far.  I'm still gaining new follicles on my face at a slow pace, and on my back at [luckily] an extremely slow pace [I have 17 hairs on my upper back - up from 3 in 2003, which means I grow one new upper back hair just a little over once a year].  I actually think that my hair is still growing thicker, darker, and even sprouting new follicles here and there as I get older.

My Question to you tres, is:

Do you know for certain that you actually needed to apply hair preservation formulations in order to keep your hair?  Did you have older male siblings whose hair shared the same form yours did at the same age, and they eventually started to lose their hair, leading to believe you needed to take preemptive measures to maintain the svelte and aesthetic hair that you possess today?

Or did you just assume that since one of your friends was losing his hair and managed to prevent further hair loss before it became noticeable, that using the same protocol as him would allow you to keep your thick head of hair too?

I'm only asking because it doesn't even look like you needed any help to keep your hair, and I don't understand what reasons you had to consider yourself a candidate requiring hair preservation products in the first place.

Did you already explain this in a post I may have missed?

I guess I'm just surprised that you would need any sort of help, hair-wise.  You hair is one of your better features, and I always thought your quality hair was just the product of good genetics.  Although that aside, my friend only now at 39 has shed enough hair to consider treatments, but he says that the hair products which would help him maintain the hair he has now [or even grow some back, apparently] have side effects that affect a man's hormones, which is why he doesn't want to go that route.

Instead, as of this summer, he is now bald with a beard.  I still think he has enough hair to hold off on shaving the rest bald for a few years yet...but he likes the bald with a beard look, so all the power to him.

But in your case, I can't help but wonder why you think you need any help with your hair, and if you actually had any evidence of that when you initially started taking hair preservation measures.

I think I speak for many here when I say that we don't want you to presume to speak for us even if you happened to be right as in this case.

How tall are you? Based on the photos you posted, I never would have guessed that you were over 200 lbs. Damn, you must be solid as a rock.

I am around 6'2'' and the guy next me was 6'5'' (guessing)

Im a big dude but I do my best to stay on the trim side. I could be 250lbs + if i wanted to go the mass route. I can eat 6-7 meals no problem daily but aint my thing

my arms are 19s and my thighs are 27s (yes they need more cuts)

I will hit up the hot yoga 5x per week to slim back down to around a lean 210lbs

yes I have the taking a shit roelly winkler face here :) and this was after a spray tan

So here's my question: do you know for a fact that you even needed to use anything to keep your hair?  Not all men lose their hair, you know.  .

my best friend who was older than me when I was in my early 20s was loosing his hair (regular guy, not on AAS) and he was freaking out about it and he told me to get rogaine ASAP.

so I took his word and used Rogaine every so often then started using it daily, my dermatologist also gave me the nod that rogaine is a good idea as well so I have been using it 1-2x a day for years.

before I competed in men's classic I was always in great shape (auditioned for the Chippendales 2x) and did some other things.

here is me before I competed more a lean look (which I will go back to now)

I believe its best to be very trim in the off season then "grow into the show"  so next prep I will grow up around 240lbs. again mass wins in our current era

when you hit a double bicep like that there isnt a lot that catches the eye, its down and across, try making some shape and flow, think Lee Labrada even Kai Greene, tilt the elbows, open your feet, its easy to flex you thighs without locking your knees, start your pose from the toes up, imagine grabbing the floor with your feet and work upwards, that way you wont forget to flex the whole body.

Practice in a mirror , get the pose right and then close your eyes and feel where your body is in your mind, after a while hit the poses with your eyes shut then look when you think you are in the right place, you can keep making adjustments and it will get to the point where you can hit the poses just right by feel and not look

Bbers like Sergio Olivia who have mass in the lats to waist and cannonball arms, could get way standing straight on no tricks, gaspari  and mentzer and even Arnold would tilt or turn slight to create even illusion.

Really good build, but as mentioned, the poor posing position robs your entire torso of its size and development. I’m not being an ass, just saying you busted your ass to get a great build and you’re not displaying it as well as you could.

Next up is the OLYMPIA but I am unable to make an accurate guess this year simply because there are too damn many divisions to keep up to date with (Physique, Classic, Bodybuilding, and all the women's divisions) and to the best of my knowledge I've only met/know one contender (Logan Franklin) who I believe will dominate the pro physique or Pro classic.

Didn't you train with him at one time, Tres!?

You look fucking fantastic.  My only criticism is something you've heard a million times before:  calves, calves, calves.

What are you doing for them now?  What does the rest of your training routine look like?  I vaguely recall that you of the low to modest volume/high intensity paradigm.

I was gifted with big, lowly-inserted calves, so I'm not the guy to offer advice about bringing them up.  But IIRC, Pellius built his to well past spec with a brutally effective method.  (Honorable Pellius, are you reading this?)  Hopefully he will remind us what that entailed :)

thank you
yes my calves are not getting the attention they need. i loathe training calves  ::) love barbell squats and I will hit calves more in this coming year

training split (5x per week) 1 bodypart then rotate a bodypart on day 6 and day 7 is posing class

Monday chest
tuesday legs
wednesday shoulders
thursday back
friday arms

then saturday I will hit a spot i need to work (example would be shoulders or chest with super high reps)
sunday is posing

diet was high calories, high carbs, proteins to bulk up to around 235lbs, and I was training very hard and heavy (6-8 reps) and forced reps when i was big and full.  I could have gone up to 245lbs but I never would have been able to drop it in time

then last 6 weeks was a keto diet, cut back on the intensity and increased the reps

going forward for 2021, I will train a standard split, go keto and be very trim/lean as I will not complete in 2021 at all, goal is to look like a million bucks (trim and lean) and be healthy (including hot yoga and fasting) and work on weak bodyparts (calves, tighten hamstrings, bigger chest and lower abs) rehab all shoulders, elbows and hips as well

then see where things are in 2022.
