The owners of a New Jersey gym who famously defied orders to close the fitness center during the coronavirus pandemic have now been hit with more than $1.2 million in fines — but are staying open as a “f–k” you to Gov. Phil Murphy.

The Atilis Gym in Bellmawr became an anti-lockdown posterchild in May after it repeatedly refused to adhere to the Garden State’s orders to close.

Unbelievable.   Typical left wing liberal pansie mentality.  Fine and punish those trying to be healthier.

You're and attorney. You should offer to represent the gym owner pro-bono.

1.  I got my own bills to pay.

2.  I'm not licensed in N.J.

3.  I don't mix work and fitness.

We should vote to end the monetary fine system.

It’s racist.

They can't and they won't.  They will kick it to their insurance company for liability and when that fails to go through, they will close.

And then - SURPRISE - set up a gofundme page for themselves.

It's just two weeks to flatten the curve, guys.  This isn't a controlled demolition of the global economy or anything.

Great set up.   Not everyone has the same situation.  Obese and diabetic people are most likely to have a hard time w the Rona.    Why hammer gyms ?   We should be mandating fatties got to the gym vs wearing a mask

Exactly.  It's not about health - it's about obedience, control, and submission to whatever the state demands.  And the more people submit, the greater the demands will become.

Unfortunately, people are going along with it.  I'd like to think there will be a breaking point, based on the erosion of civil liberties in combination with huge economic loss for the middle class and the SME sector, as the to 0.1% get literally TRILLIONS of dollars richer [currently $1 trillion and counting, as the global economic has sustained damages of over $10 trillion so far].  But so far, it's not looking like there will be any push-back, and because of that, the ones pulling the strings will get more and more brazen, and do more to set up the nations of the world with more top-down authoritarian control.

I'm very pessimistic about the whole thing.

Back to what you said regarding health - notice how Bill Gates never suggests to anyone to eat better?  Or to, I don't know, maybe stop being a continent [North America] filled with opioid-addicted obese alcoholics?

Nope - it's all about the recurring revenue model his vaccine investments will bring him.  Here's a guy who couldn't even stop his own software from being riddled with viruses, but thinks he can deal with an actual virus and global pandemic?  Right.

It just blows my mind that the healthiest people are being targeted.  On top of all the lack of human contact, hand sanitization, mask-wearing, and everything else, this will do NOTHING but prevent us from reaching herd immunity, force us to rely on rushed [and mostly untested] vaccines, and hope they actually work [and don't come with a myriad of side effects].  All the while, the lack of exposure to other people's immune systems and the antibodies they produce, and the lack of exposure to even basic germs, will do nothing but weaken our immune systems, forcing us to rely even more on vaccines in the future.

That's why I am exposing myself as much as possible to people during this pandemic.  I'm drinking out of the glasses of others as often as possible, I'm using the same plates/bowls and cutlery as other people close to me, and if I happen to drop food on the ground, I just dust it off and eat it, 5-second rule or not.  And I will NEVER wear a mask - I don't care how many businesses trespass me.

People are literally forgetting that we have something called an "immune system", and that's happening precisely because the media narrative writers calling the shots from the top don't WANT people to remember they have one, as well as other natural mechanisms to stay healthy.

Are some pharmaceutical companies on the verge of bankruptcy lately because of lawsuits?  I know the Jewish Sackler family who privately owns Purdue Pharma [the makers of OxyContin, and all the other Contin opiate drugs] is being sued into oblivion by over 2,000 counties and cities...could the pharmaceutical industry as a whole be facing a similar crisis, resulting in this massive push to sell vaccines?  RFID "conspiracy theories" aside [although I don't rule them out], could this money-grab be a desperate attempt to prevent Big Pharma from going bankrupt?  I know something big is driving this - I just don't have enough information to put the pieces together.

I'm grateful that the convenience store and gas bar closest to me not only don't enforce the mask rule - but two employees who were working at the same time together two weeks ago both weren't wearing masks.

I think those of us who oppose masks should all wear the same mask - or even just the same colour mask; say, red.  Then if we went to Wal-Mart with 200 people there and 140 people wearing red masks, it would become clear just how few people are buying any of this, and gradually, those wearing the red masks would gradually stop, and eventually you'd see only the True Believers with masks, who would be outnumbered by those of us who are either not worried about the virus, or more concerned about the grotesque mismanagement of taxpayer money used to mishandle the crisis, and line the pockets of the ultra-wealthy.  With that show of force, there is no way that this scam can continue - at least not in its current form.  And based on all comments I see on YouTube posted on videos uploaded by mainstream news outlets [when they even allow comments, which is maybe 50-75% of the time], I can tell that most people aren't buying this scam.  If only there was some way to get an idea like that off the ground [different coloured masks for dissenters] - but human beings are herd animals [at least it seems that way], and the tendency for people is to go along with what they perceive the masses to be doing.  Oh well.

you think gyms are the solution? If people cared they’d workout at home, or go for a walk. heart health can be achieved easily walking a dog a couple times a day
