From what I’ve seen Hadi was good enough for 2nd  curry 3rd  Heath 4th or 5th.
Heath & curry were let’s say fortunate.
maybe he was marked down for the obvious oil in his delts

So happy Phil lost.  And 3rd place was a gift.

I didn't watch it because I simply can't stand to see Phil's deer in the headlights while chewing briars facial expressions when he poses.

Quite possibly as he was warned about it last year.
Delts not withstanding he was still better than heath & curry overall

Phils probably the most disliked Mr olympia ever.

He exposes his pettiness even on stage, like the BS with kai and this year with curry (while his gut was looking like chuckys face)

Ramy and curry are levels above him as men, so it's good he didn't get another gift.

Curry looked amazing too.  He needs more in the legs but he looked great.   Ramy looked great.

Phil is a petty person.   He should have gotten 6

Here's a thought I had that I discussed with a friend.
The Olympia open was over 2 days. What are the chances the judges were affected by fan feedback on the predjudging? What I mean is, Ramy was getting overwhelming support as the clear champion online, maybe 9 out of 10 thought he was the winner. I said perhaps if the whole show was over one day he might not have been given the title. What do you guys think?

I also said before the finals that I thought Brandon and Phil would probably get 1-2 gift bumps each. I had Hadi in second, as did many others.

I mentioned something similar in the live stream thread.  I think this was the first live O I'd watched in full in decades(!) so I'm not sure if the 'online fans choice' award is a regular thing?

But when they presented it to Ramy, and the fans were chanting his name, I wondered how they could get round giving it someone the fans didn't choose...

Commenting on it, Shawn Ray (or it might have been Rich Gaspari) even said something like 'usually you hear a lot of boos when awards are given, and he'd never heard such loud support for an award before' (or words to that effect)

Maybe the whole point of the fan vote is to make sure they get the right pick?

I think Hadi got it last year but didn't win the show. With the fan pick you have a very ethnic/religious (racist as it were, Inshallah lol) type of voting. I'm sure the crazy Iranians voted the hell out of Hadi.
I remember with Hadi the Iranians were almost banned from the IFBB altogether when they went nuts and posted death threats to Flex Lewis lol.
But with Ramy, the support online was from all quarters.

I think Ramy has shot shoulders.
He was in pain while posing.

Similar problem Paul Dillett had.
He can not hold a pose for more then three seconds.

So i don't see a bright future for Ramy here.
But he is a good Champion  8)

Weird - not the way I saw it - it seemed like he was hitting the poses before everyone else and waiting while Phil did his arm-waving routine to make sure he hit it last - so to me it looked like he was holding the poses longer than everyone else.  I'll have to watch the replays back

Probably 8 or 9 out of 10 pros have "shot shoulders" :D
Seems like they always get worn down.

Funny everyone always says this, it’s all an act, like MMA fighters talking shit

I’ve met phil many times and he’s a cool guy, very approachable, and no attitude or stuck up persona

I guess everyone likes the “humble” “nice guy” “underdog” BS

Good argument  ;)
But he has also severve flexibility issuses in his upper body..
If he is unable to fix this, he will go the Ronny Coleman route.
And this is exactly what i think will happen. Time will tell.

I'm happy for Ramy, people were tired of blacks dominating the sport, people wanted a white champ  :)

Most of these monsters can't remove their own t-shirts, can hardly change socks. Greg Kovacs couldn't even wipe his own ass  :D

Ramy likely has a number of issues, though Ronnie's were related to severe back issues. I think Ramy might have accepted death for a title win, for himself, his country, God, religion etc, so no matter what, it was worth it. These Middle Easterners are crazy like that  :D

I was at the gym after pre-judging and a middle eastern competitor said, "if Ramy doesn't win it's pure racism!"
I thought to myself, what about the poor blacks he beats, that's not racism? Lol  :D

Not to mention that Middle Eastern is not a race.
Maybe not in the american dictionary but it's definately a specific developed phenotype limited to the middle east

Hadi for example anyone could see a picture of him and 99% would say he is middle easterner

He looked pretty off, not just the abs either. His head is either bigger, or everything is proportionally smaller. What do you guys think?
