The bill sucks. He was right to sign it though as it will alleviate the suffering of millions of Americans. I agree with him 100% that it should have been a stand alone bill with much larger direct payments to Americans. Particularly those under water. Perfect isn't the enemy of good or in this case better than nothing.

If he had balls - which we all know he doesn't - he would have sent it back and told them to remove any non US funded support and money.  Made it more into a single issue bill.  But he didn't, which is why other countries are getting rich off our misery.

True, but $600 or $2,000 doesn't effect Getbiggers who are all independently wealthy.

Unfortunately, Trump didn't sign the bill before the unemployment lapsed. As a result this weeks checks will not go out. Not great for those who are depending on this money to survive.

There are two different pieces of legislation, the Covid Relief Bill and the Consolidated Appropriations act of 2021. Congress used one Legislative Act to pass two pieces of funding legislation.

There are 12 spending bills packaged in the Omnibus Spending Bill. Here’s how it breaks down: $1.4 trillion will fund the government for the next year. That includes budgets for domestic and foreign spending. Then Congress added $900 billion for COVID-19 economic relief. None of the Covid-19 economic relief money $900 billion goes to foreign aid.

In order to reach agreement Congress packages various spending bills as well as other provisions. It's a "I'll give you what you want only if you give me what I want and vice versa.

The stimilus isn't a completely done deal. Today, the House votes to raise the $600 to a $2,000 stimulus check.

I think this is a great example of how Congress plays games with tax payers money. It has been going on since forever.

One problem Congress faces is that you can't fund individual spending bills until you pass the budget (Consolidated Appropriations Act). Think of it this way, you can't pay your rent, buy groceries and utilities or figure out how much you can spend on non-essentials until you get your income. Congress has an extra step which is to pass a spending budget first, before they can fund anything.

Whatever - keep voting for freaks and pedos and communists and asking why we are in a mess.  So old and yet so clueless and dumb.

The bill is a disgrace on all levels.   You should be ashamed of yourself, but you are also flirting w shizzo making homo remarks to you - so there is that too.  No wonder . . . . .

Probably a lot of the foreign aid and other crap.  The GOP lardasses and slime are chomping at the bit for a Biden presidency so they can pile all the debt and bs on us right under the radar along w Biden and the Dems.

Nobody sneaked that into the Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2021, much less the Covid-19 Stimulus Package. Congress (the House and the Senate) reached an agreement on the Consolidated Appropriations Act 2021 (2021 total government spending budget) at the eleventh hour.. After offering no input during Congresses negotiations, Trump initially refused to sign the budget because the Stimulus payout was only $600 and he wanted $2,000. Now he's making noise about the pieces of the Appropriations act that included items not related to the Covid-19 Stimulus. I say making noise because he's already agreed to the budget by signing it. So whatever he has to say now means nothing.

Some people, like you are conflating the Covid-19 Stimilus with the Consolidated Appropriations Act. They are not the same thing.

Get a grip. My endorsement of Trump signing is for the Covid-19 Stimulus money ($600) going to the folks all over the U.S. that are financially underwater, endanger of being evicted, out of a job and now had their unemployment cut off. That Congress packed the Appropriations Spending bill of which the Stimulus is only a small part is a whole different story.

Seems to me the Covid-19 Stimilus could have been separated (funded out of the current budget) from next year's Appropriations (budget) so that Trump would have signed only that. However, I am thinking of the calendar year and not the fiscal year, which might be different.

If all this seems convoluted to you, you are correct. That is exactly what it is. That is precisely how the folks we elect to office conduct the business of the people in this country, both at the Federal and State level. Ever hear the term 'gut and stuff'? look it up as it applies to government. It is a sickening and dishonest way of doing business.

You should support him.

If I thought he was genuinely interested in helping those who are suffering then I would support him

It's obvious the he doesn't give a shit since he didn't lift a finger during the negotiations and waiting until it was too late to even sign this bill

This 2k thing is nothing more than a FU to his party

I don't expect Trumptards to understand this.  You people are zombie cult members

Thank you for putting this so succinctly. I completely agree with you with the exception of your blanket definition of people who support Trump. Some may be zombies but there is a variety of different reasons and rationale people have for supporting who they do.
