Twitter's influence is HUGE. Push notifications get people's attention way better than a website. Let's say trump tweets 10 tweets on a particular day. It get's pushed to 90 million people and many of them use mobile devices and see all updates easily. Now, if he posts 10 times a day on his personal website, are 90 million people going to check his website 10 times a day? Nope. After they check the website few times and there's nothing new, they will drop the frequency dramatically. There's no such thing as sharing a web page with other people easily which helps things go viral.

I don’t disagree with what you say but at the end of the day Trump had about 10 times as many Twitter followers as Biden yet the latter won. So how big of an influence is it really?
