Problem is most things are made manufactured in China today. Even "quality" brands. Like Iphone for example. Even german car brands are majority owned by China these days.

I bought a Dewalt drill few months ago because I figured I needed a quality one for once. And when I got it ofc.. "Made in China" stamp on it...

Just saying... Hard to avoid in this day... But if you can, do so.

People talk a good game but at the end of the day they shop price. No one’s going to pay three times as much for that drill made by a fat American union worker.

People WILL pay significantly more for a quality made product and U.S made products are generally of a much higher quality than the Chinese crap. Certain cultures like China  and Mexico just don't  have the instinct  to produce  high quality. They do things half-assed for some reason. Go to their countries and look around. Everything is poor quality and made to last for a short time.

Exactly.   I have zero issue paying more for made in USA

maybe the right phrase would be pride of workmanship...  still a few folks around that still have it... over there... it's just the same thing... every day... do it or else type work...  make the same as every other "slave" ... zero incentive to do better ....

Quality of production is determined by the manufacturer's specs for the job.

The Chinese make quality and they make crap, same as American workers.

Americans make crap too.  I've bought Made In USA stuff that has been junk.

Most of the parts in the American cars are made overseas now.

The majority of Ford Truck parts are made either in Mexico or other countries.

Lack of foreign competition prior to Japan becoming a big player just made American car companies fat and lazy and they made junk.

I hear you.  Exactly.  I spend time researching most stuff before buying lately.   F these communist jackals.   They steal our tech.

Our corporations saw the profit and couldn't move manufacturing overseas fast enough. Our market rewared them for it and punished those who didn't export jobs. Our government instituted trade policies at the behest of industry which made it all sweet and easy. The enemy is within.

Ports, mines and other natural resources.

Agreed, but average buying power is going to go WAY down by design. The plan is to put the world on parity for standard of living. That means the USA and Europe must crumble.

Also consider that most people under 30 are just fine selling the country to communists for one $2000 check.  :'(

As long as the Biden family and key Democrats get their cut they will let China do what ever they want to steal the US's wealth.

Vietnam
Japan
South Korea
(Possibly) Thailand

Will be the only ones to stand against the CCP. Things will get very interesting when China finally gets fed up of formalities with Taiwan

The Chinese are not innovators, they are copycats.
That's why they steal billions of dollars in technology from the US every year.
The US has the greatest minds and innovation on the planet and will continue to lead the World.

China also has no real cultural influence (so far). Who around the world rushes to Chinese movies or can’t wait to listen to Chinese music or read Chinese literature? Who is rushing to move to China? The economic domination is important, but great nations and empires (Rome, Great Britain, France, the United States, even Persia and Turkey/Ottomans) always have also dominated culturally.

South Korea and Japan probably have the biggest cultural influences in the region, especially South Korea. K-pop, Korean TV dramas and movies are very popular. K-pop is also probably the biggest influence on fashion for younger people, especially in South-East Asia.

They might win by losing this battle.  The rest of the world is busy "diversifying" to the point of having no culture or fighting different cultures within their borders.  China does not have this problem.

I veer liberal more than conservative but you make an interesting point in light of history. Many historians might argue that the Roman Empire fell apart, to some extent, as a result of “over diversification”. France would be an example of a dominant culture that always maintained a tight homogenous rein on what it meant to be French, and now they are struggling. They are dealing with “universal” French identity versus “diversity”. So you make an interesting point.

China quality of products overall is crap, of course you can get good items too, but it is more of an exception compared to US made items...

The Chinese are very restrictive of who they let in but are exporting a lot of their citizens to other countries, especially African nations.  The expats live together in "Chinatown" in every country and keep their Chinese culture.

In Egypt, I read that they are the women’s kinky lingerie sales people and they own those stores. Muslim men don’t want other men to have anything to do with this, and Muslim women would never be allowed to do this job, but the Chinese have weaseled right in because the men still want their women to own these products. The Chinese are very clever at finding a niche, but I still say they have no real cultural influence, simply economic.

that is true

it is quite amazing how different the chinese are from the japanese.

Japanese have pride and stand for quality and perfection of their work in general. The Chinese are like complete opposite in their mindset and approach to work.

I mean they are basically the same race more or less or am I wrong in that? Japanese avg IQ is about 2 points higher if that makes any difference.
