If they stole the Vera Bradley suitcase and are convicted of the crime, which is a felony, they will likely be fired from that position. They also face a 5-year sentence and a $10,000 fine.
Brinton claims to have accidentally grabbed the wrong bag. It happens a lot. There were more than 684,000 lost and mishandled bags at major US airlines in the first quarter of 2022 alone. However, once Samuel realized the mistake, they should have taken immediate action to return the luggage to the airport, as any sensible and honest person would do.
With a dual Master of Science degree in nuclear science and engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Samuel is highly educated and has an impressive although short employment history in nuclear engineering and legislative affairs, suggesting that they are highly qualified for the position they presently hold with the Office of Nuclear Energy.
