Paris Climate Accord
« on: January 22, 2021, 12:05:09 AM »
I'm really pissed Biden is getting us back in on this.  Trump was about to start building a wall around our (U.S) ozone layer to protect us from China's pollution which would have created millions of new jobs.  Can I have a do over?

 ;D

“The level of Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) set by each country will set that country's targets. However the 'contributions' themselves are not binding as a matter of international law, as they lack the specificity, normative character, or obligatory language necessary to create binding norms.Furthermore, there will be no mechanism to force a country to set a target in their NDC by a specific date and no enforcement if a set target in an NDC is not met. There will be only a "name and shame" system. The agreement provides no consequences if countries do not meet their commitments, consensus of this kind is fragile. A trickle of nations exiting the agreement could trigger the withdrawal of more governments, bringing about a total collapse of the agreement.”

Not ratified, only signatories.

No enforcement mechanism.

Not binding.

Must create a “financial flow” to fund your NDC targets.

In other words....we want TRILLIONS of tax dollars to spend as we wish without accountability, responsibility, or auditing of results. This is nothing more than a scam and a reach into the taxpayers pocket.

China and India are smart.  They "agree" to cut carbon in 40 years  ::)  while the rest of the world pays the bill.  Our economies crash while their economies grow.
