She's gone. I guess I'm still in shock.

Had a bunch of family that was able to make it before she passed. Saddest part was watching my grandmother kiss her daughter on her forehead before she died.

Unbelievable. The doctor called this morning and said that even though they unhooked her from everything, she is still fighting. They said that if she continues to stay alive, they will move her to a hospice. They said she isn't going to suffer, but man, when is this nightmare going to end?

She's a fighter though. They estimated that she would only last about 10 minutes minutes after they unhooked her. Its now going into the next day.

Its not fake. Blame the nurse who said that the machine was breathing for her, and that she could pass as quickly as 10 minutes after they unhooked everything.

We stayed at her bedside for another 30 minutes after that, and her sister stayed even longer than that. She was still alive. The nurse made it act like she wasn't going to make it through the night.

My father is actually on the phone right now with the hospice. Looks like they are going to try and transfer her. It could be minutes, hours, or days at this point.

It's almost worse at this point, for the family.

The folks at Hospice are wonderful. I gather your mom is being moved to a facility where Hospice will handle all her needs. If it is an option, have and your dad thought about bringing her home?

My wife was under hospice care the last three weeks of her life. Luckily, she was able to stay and die at home, which is something both of us wanted. Hospice provided everything she needed, including daily visits from nurses and other staff.

It is not unheard of that someone in hospice gets better. A friend of mine who was terminally ill with liver cancer was in and out of hospice several times over the course of a couple of years. It got to the point where he said he wished he could just die and get it over with which of course eventually is what happened.

His mom was in her own home for months before Shizzo callled for an ambulance, which took her to the hospital where they quickly determined she’s dying and had her whole family come in to say goodbye. Then a NURSE, not the attending doctor,  told the family she would die quickly off the machine, when she didn’t the doctor referred hospice.

She will be at her home with hospice visiting.

Also if his mom was dying why are you asking questions like he is interested in causal conversation about her death? What wrong with you?

I'm sorry for your loss, Shawn. I remember how I felt when I lost my mom. Seeing her in the hospital lying there with tubes all over the place. But she was in her late seventies and had health problems. Your mother was so young.

I think it is fair to say that most members of this board find you somewhat annoying and see you as a figure for ridicule. Why you would wish to share this information with people who hold you in such regard is bizarre. If my mother were dying, I’m confident I’d not be posting about it here, or anywhere else.
