I haven't even watched the video, and I was already thinking the same thing.
I used to think a good standard for a normal gym rat was being in range of HALF what the very strongest men on earth can lift. But that would now mean strict bench pressing 391-lb. I wouldn't even frankly want to risk that, even if I could do that [which I can't]. I believe in 2012, a Russian powerlifter died when around 400-lb slipped when he was attempting to bench press it.
These guys today are a legit next level. IMO, the biggest single variable to have changed is the fact that the average body weight of a WSM athlete or powerlifter has gone up, with some top guys in the 400-lb to 450-lb range.
