Sort of related, indi-lad - but I wanted to let you know:

I confused Swamp thing for Man-Thing when we last spoke!!! Man-Thing being a Stan Lee and Roy Thomas creation. Although I actually didn't realize it was a collaboration with Stan Lee. I thought only Thomas had created Man-Thing.

Lee seemed to have a last few bad years. Too bad for a man in his nineties to go through that.

I posted before of the time I met Stan in person. I don't know how much (if any) of what that article lists is true, but in the short time I talked with him, he really was into the comic universe big time. Not just Marvel. He loved DC as well. That dude actually LIVED the greatest life he ever could have doing what he loved the most. The amazing thing is that while talking, he agreed and stated many of the same things that I did as well. He didn't mind if you criticized anything. He was harsh on a lot of things as well. Many of that I agreed on.
Best part of the conversation was debating Quicksilver vs Flash.

I still have thousands of comic books from the 50s, 60s, 70s. Haven't looked at them for 30 years but was really into it for a part of my youth/teens. Good for John that he rubs shoulders with the giants in an interesting, creative field.
