little tidbit. I practice darts 3 to 4 hours a day 6 days a week. I had full expectations of making it to the Canadian Championships this year as the top 10 from the province qualify. Fukin corona   (yes nerdy shirt)

long way to go. I didnt start until my 50th birthday, so just over 5 years now. 3 dart average back then was in 30's lolol,...now Im in the low 70's. 78 average won the province Im in so Im getting there

There was a guy down here that was being sponsored to try to get to the high level of darts competition.  Apparently, he was a "natural".  After 6 months, he wound up with crippling tendonitis and CTS and had to have surgery.  Apparently, his throwing technique was not very good.  I mean it worked for him obviously if all these people thought he could go big time.  But when he threw the dart, his arm didn't do the "follow through".  (Not sure what this is called or whatever...) instead he had a hard popping stop at the time of the throw that simply wore his forearm out and caused problems.   Not sure if I described it in a way you can picture it.  But he was transferring all the stress into his tendons and joints at the end of the movement.  He  got surgery and gave it up all together.

Years ago I was high ranking in my state. I played a bunch of tourney's in the surrounding states.
Two things happened, one my team besides me and one other were all cokeheads. I was in a bar waiting for a match to start and said out loud,
''Where's my team" some dude from the other team said they were all in bathroom doing lines.
I sure as fuck didn't want to be associated with that!
Two, in our matches we would have a courtesy bet that the loser would buy the winner whatever he was drinking.
I usually won and would have drinks lined up for me, then the matches would end and we would play for drinks.
We played every Monday night and I got tired of getting up every Tuesday feeling it and I walked away.
Haven't played for years.
