Question about God
« on: March 07, 2021, 09:19:00 AM »
Who made God? Where did God come from? Did another thing make God? Did he make himself?
How?
Was he always there? No. Even if hes been there 100000000000000000000000 00 years, he had to start somewhere.

You are referring to the God of Judeo-Christianity.

"He always was and always will be" is the common doctrine.

"I AM THAT I AM".  The I AM.  The self-evident one, who was, is and is to come.

There is some evidence that the Pharaoh Akhenaten (father of Tutankhamun) and his worship of Aten might be where Judaism came from.  It is thought that this monotheistic approach to religion was the beginning of Israel and their God as there is speculation that Moses was a priest of Aten and when that  god lost favor (the priests of the old gods did NOT like being cast aside along with their multitude of deities) Moses left Egypt with many followers of Aten.

Even without a God or gods, people know the difference between good and evil, right and wrong, etc.  We are responsible to ourselves to behave as we should.  It may be in our nature to be human (and all that entails) but that doesn't excuse anyone from doing evil or what goes against the natural course of all that is evident in the miracle that is the world around us.

Just because there is an insect that eats shit doesn't mean you have to.

No one knows what reality awaits us when we breathe our last.  Only the dead know and they're not talking.

God is the universe and the universe is made of energy.... energy cannot be created nor destroyed and as such had to have always existed and will exist infinitely

Just got back from church

Quite the performance

Hobe sound Bible college church

He will tell me and I will tell you

Lots of talk about blood

Sacrifice

Vengeance

Giving power to him on high (money)

I’d respect it if they did not ask for money

And tell me I’m not strong or full of my own power

I fear no man or his rules for me and not for thee

But I’ll return and see how it plays out

I think to many faith in God represents and embraces uncertainty. Even the most mundane existence is a complex interconnected ancient web that we can't even begin to really untangle.

We can splice out small bouts of cause and effects and play around with it in a limited way but the totality of it all utterly transcends what we can comprehend

The oldest question, asked by every culture. My understanding is God never began and will never end. He isn’t a he or a she and is in every cell of every organism in the universe. Human brains are to incomplete to understand this, but it’s true.

There is what many people consider a "God mind", something that controls everything through energy.

That makes more sense than an imaginary man in the sky who sent his son to Earth to die for our sins.

Depends on which God, there are so many it's hard to keep track.

It’s an easy way to go, to not believe I mean. I’d rather give 10% of my income to a church in my community that responsibly uses that money to help like minded people than let the government have it, even if I didn’t believe a good church would be a better choice.
If every Christian church today took more time to focus on the sacrifices that early Christians made bad in the early days of the faith more people would understand what it means to be a Christian.  Maybe this Sunday morning dog and pony show that people who pretend to believe wouldn’t be so hard to stand.

So everything came to exist out of nothing?

Let me ask you this...

Can you create energy or destroy it? Is it possible? or does it just change form?....

If you cannot create energy it must have always existed no and therefore always exist in the future in some form
