They just want to avoid a civil jury trial. It's quicker to give them the $27m (which will be spent fast), than risk a civil trial where a few activist jurors could stick them for a lot more. Also probably a show of good will toward Floyd and the blacks, since winning the actual criminal trial seems to be weak.

Minnesota just wants it over with.

I am not saying Chauvin didn't kill him.  He was exessive BUT BUT BUT BUT it wasn't intentional or premeditated.  Not when you see the whole video.  You see Chauvin try to get Floyd into the Cop car a bunch of times and Floyd panics and resists.  Even the cops offered to sit with him in the back seat to help him stay calm.  People latched on to Floyd crying for Momma when he was being chocked but they didn't see that Floyd was crying for Momma 10 minutes earlier when he was resisting arrest.

At least the guy has been caught. He was prohibited from carrying firearms and is on state parole for a 2014 robbery conviction (what a surprise).

He has been charged with Aggravated Assault, Criminal Mischief, VUFA offenses, Simple Assault, Recklessly Endangering Another Person, Harassment, and related offenses. No hate crime charges though.

Also, a few days prior to the cinder block attack, the District Attorney approved an arrest warrant for this POS following Philadelphia Police investigation of an armed robbery at a pharmacy on February 22nd. Stevens is alleged to have wielded a firearm and demanded “Oxys” from the pharmacist. During a struggle that ensued, Stevens’ gun fired and a bullet struck the pharmacist in the chest. Stevens is further alleged to have pointed his gun at the pharmacist’s head before fleeing the store and getting into the passenger side of a running white sedan.
For this incident he faces charges of Attempted Murder, Aggravated Assault, Robbery, VUFA and related offenses.

Had the DA released all the bodycam footage simultaneously, we would have been spared this awful spring and summer.  He'll pay no price.

This is why all the sports leagues are dying is because they are mostly supported by the 67% white population that actually work and have money.   When you support nigs that are criminals who died because of their crimes, cities get destroyed, and then put their names on your jerseys and SJW sayings on the field/court upon which they kneel while making millions and claiming to be oppressed it doesn't go over so well.

Floyd was saying he couldn't breath while just in the car, and the doors were open bcuz he was high as fuck.  He broke the law using illegal drugs, passing counterfeit cash, and selling "loosies" (the last I don't think is a big deal or even get why it's illegal in all fairness).   He didn't want to cooperate, and asked to be taken out of the car and put on the ground.  Chauvin IMO from what I saw was not in anyway putting all of his weight on Floyd, AND he was kneeling on his lower/middle back not his neck.  He could repeatedly say "I can't breath" which means he was breathing just fine.  He died from overdosing, not police brutality.  The family should be sued by the city for all that money to repair the city destroyed because of a false narrative by MSM of a piece of shit criminal's death.  No way in hell that guy's life was worth 27 million bucks.  They should get the other counterfeit bills and "loosies" he had left in his pockets, and nothing more.
