               I'm sure he did. I've always said a minimum of two years of military service as well as 4 years of government service should be a prerequisite of running for president. that would eliminate some of the posers who run. george bush sr is an example of someone who qualifies.

Liberals have been behind the "everyone is a winner (more whiner) and gets a trophy" just for showing up.  Liberals have pushed the lotion-notion (slippery BS) that if you are in the military, are a LEO (except you deserve to be defunded), work in the medical field, power producing industry and pretty much any group they want to vote for them, deserve the title of "HERO".

If you're a nurse giving someone their Covid vaccine, you are NOT a "HERO".  If you're working to keep the grid online (despite libtards best efforts to call your industry EVIL) then you are NOT a "HERO".  Not all military, LEO, etc. are heroes.  They are men and women doing a job.  And on the rare occasion that they are called up, they may be required to fight. 

Waiting your turn is not heroic.  In Biden's pUniverse, I would say he and Kuntmala consider military and LEO to be like gladiators.

I am NOT entertained.

I don't think liberals have pushed the notion of military being heroes. Remember they treated our Vietnam vets like garbage, especially in the media. Draft dodgers were CELEBRATED by the left.

After Desert Shield/Storm and Iraqi/Enduring Freedom, more "alternative" media came into the fold. And the determination was that NOBODY who put on the uniform would be treated the way the Vietnam vets were ever again. The whole Rambo movie franchise was based on a returning Vietnam vet, who was treated like a leper when he came back home.

No matter what you thought of the politicians who green-lighted the conflicts, those who actually made the sacrifices would be treated with some dignity, at least.

Between the internet, talk radio, and certain cable news channels, thankfully our vets will continued to be honored (provided they served honorably) and NEVER get excoriated the way those who served in 'Nam did.

Yes, Vietnam Vets were treated like shit by libbies.  My father and several cousins all had multiple tours over there.  Dad was Captain of a river boat and so I have some first hand knowledge of what those men went through abroad and upon returning home.  As a related aside, my mother despises John Kerry for his B.S. about his service.

After 9/11, vets are treated far better than they've been in decades. I've had people offer to buy me beers (even though I don't drink); so, I simply accept a soda or tea. Senior citizens give much love when they find out you're a veteran.

Just this past Veterans' Day, I made the rounds with my kids to get them free ice cream, frozen yogurt, (boneless) hot wings, and other treats that many franchises were given to those who served in our armed forces. 

If you live in a town with a major military command (i.e Mayport, FL), you get perks year round.

Thanks, Nat!  I am going to order the film in either Blu Ray or if the pressing gets decent reviews for picture quality, the 4k version. I have a lot of movies, mostly from the 30s on up to the 80s but have some of the newer ones. I just got the 4k of "Gladiator" as I read that the transfer was good and it is!

I bought the homage film to the 3 Stooges (2012) last week on Blu Ray for myself and a copy for my oldest brother and his wife. The movie "Aliens" scared me stupid in the theater but I bought the collection and on that film I sometimes fast forward as spidery-bugish things just freak me out bad.    Years ago a large wolf-spider got in our break area at work and came at me like a spider monkey  .  That thing was HUGE!!!!  I know...huge for a spider but dammit spiders are like politicians, they suck the life outta ya!  I picked up one of the lunch tables and hit it with it.

The guys still tease me about that.  I am just terrified of some things.  I am going to see if Best Buy or Amazon has the film now.  Thanks again, brother!
