did Robby use Vince´s  machines...no but his secret was the Weider Arm Blaster.  ;D
so we have to ask ourselves why has Robby still great Guns at an advanced age & Vince has fat flabby arms?
surely with his machines he himself should have big defined guns?

it´s really just Genetics. Robby´s biceps would grow just jerking off. sorry vince but even a simple arm blaster will produce results better than your machines.

Almost everyone loses muscular size as they age. My arms are still as big as they were in 1975 when I was training for a contest.

My triceps are stronger now than in 1975. That year I did a strict bench press with 410 pounds.

Robby still looks muscular but his size has disappeared.

Your arm is the same size but the bodyfat % is not anywhere close to the same.

Yep, that is what I am saying. It is a fact and it goes against what everyone believes. I haven't lost any size off my arms or calves. I seldom train my calves.

I train arms twice a week now.

Yes, I am not in competition shape but my arms are strong and solid. I am just carrying a few extra pounds of safety fat!

You are looking at a fine figure of a man. I can still outthink most of the Flotsam here. Not a worry in the world.

I am 78 but still have all my faculties. Keep my brain active. My arm training is to prove a point. Keep part of the body growing and you will stay young for your age.

So far it works. My triceps are larger than ever. How is that possible at my age? Absolutely no drugs or supplements.

By the way, you give your lack of education away. I suppose you mean 'delusional' and not "disillusioned"?

If you are current with the literature in exercise science you would know that it is probably more difficult that rocket science. Physiology is complex and so is hypertrophy.

There is a lot of broscience ignorance around here. I challenge anyone here to comprehend recent literature in hypertrophy and exercise physiology. You might get the results but the vocabulary and concepts used will leave you perplexed.

What do you think the education level of your average IFBB pro and guru is? Let's hedge our bets and say some college. They all use similar, but different drugs, eat differently, train differently, etc.... In the end, there are still plenty of 19+" arms in their ranks. In the end, it's genetics, consistency, and drug response that rules bodybuilding. Training is down in the middle of the list.

To hell with the damned drugs. I am not in the slightest interested in them. So training and equipment is still very important. I just had a good arm workout. I used 120 pounds on the modified Nautilus Triceps machine. Supersets with my biceps-supinator machine. Great workout. Muscles are hard to touch when I flex arms.

This is a very simplistic view.

As Vince said, hypertrophy is more complex than rocket science.  Some of the worlds top NASA scientists were so discouraged by the intensity of their hypertrophy curriculum they turned their focus to aerospace to lighten their studies.

Hypertrophy is also taxing to the mind.
