I would think it would be more useful when applied for long term health than it is for burning fat on a restricted diet.

Colbert was essentially right.

The primary benefit of cardio is development of the aerobic capacity of the slow twitch muscle fibers. This helps in a sport like boxing where you have to sustain a pace for several 3 min rounds, but for building muscle it’s irrelevant.

This is why most Bodybuilders do both. But yeah diet is the key to fat loss. However i know a lot of skinny guys who breath out their arse climbing stairs.

You definitely can’t out run a bad diet, but I’ve found that when I’m running a lot the fat comes off faster when I tighten up the diet.

As a heavyweight DC isn’t sweating making weight and he obviously loves to eat, but when you get to the lighter weight classes 185 on down, the guys are lean:

cardio isnt just running and sitting on a bike, fucks sake man hes grappling and striking all day, its cardio, its aerobic excercice as opposed to anaerobic.

Cardio is actually counter productive if you want to build and maintain muscle mass or burn fat. Your muscle fibers are undergoing changes all the time and adapt to them.The more cardio you do, the smaller the fibers become, the smaller your muscles get and your metabolism goes down.

Cardio doesn't destroy muscle like many people think. Once you are able to build mass, it's very difficult to lose it as long as you eat properly.

These guys train legs better than most bodybuilders. Their workouts are world class and so are their diets.
