Hollywood celebrates RAPE? "Coming 2 America" is the #1 MOVIE in America

I saw the movie last week, which was rather funny (but not as good as the original).

After seeing Coach's "Get woke; go broke" thing, I thought of something. For all the talk about how bad rape is, Coming 2 America is basically centered around just that. Per the current definition, it's sex with someone that does not or CANNOT consent.

Storyline:

 King Joffrey Jafur (James Earl Jones) is dying. Prince Akeem (Eddie Murphy) is next up to be king. He has three daughters BUT NO SONS with his queen Lisa (Shari Headley).

The king is afraid that his lineage will eventually die out because Akeem has no sons, as Zamundan law requires a male heir. Then, a weird African shaman (Arsenio Hall) has a vision that Akeem does indeed have a son. It's confirmed by Akeem's personal servant, Semmi (Hall). A flashback goes to the first trip to America for Akeem and Semmi, where they go to a club and meet all manner of weird women.

In his desperation to get laid, Semmi finds two beastly critters with whom he and Akeem go to their apartment. One of them (Leslie Jones) basically throws herself at Akeem and basically starts smoking laced weed, blowing fumes in his faces. While he's half-dazed, she jumped his bones and........Akeem now supposedly has an heir.

King Joffrey dies DURING HIS OWN FUNERAL (yes, he ordered the funeral to be held while he was still living). The new King Akeem faces a conflict with another country, whose military commander, General Izzi (Wesley Snipes), wants Akeem DEAD for refusing to marry his sister (Vanessa Bell Calloway) 30 years earlier. He will however agree to a peace treaty if one of his kids can marry into the royal family.

Since King Akeem doesn't want to give up one of his daughters, he instead will retrieve his newly-found son and wed him to Izzi's daughter (Teyana Taylor) to prevent war (and his assassination).

I'm sorry. But, I thought Hollywood was down with the "Me, too" movement.  Yet, the woman who "raped" Akeem 30 years earlier is the major comedic star of this film. And she and her underachieving boy get rewarded by basically being GRAFTED into a royal family, with the product of Akeem's "violation" being set up as crown prince.

Am I missing something here? Or, maybe Hollywood ain't so "woke" after all.

Hollyweird is all about double standards, and they do celebrate rape as long as the raping is done by a woman who isn't white, preferably an unattractive, obese lesbian.

How exactly does an agent pitch these stories to elderly actors where they play a dying character, some of whom die in the script/movie itself?

James Earl Jones played a retired [I think] baseball player in The Sandlot, and that came out when I was a kid [1993, if I recall correctly].

In what film has she been a leading lady, other than New Jack City? She certainly wasn't in Coming to America.

I find it difficult to see James Earl Jones in any other role, except as a king or ruler: Vader, Thulsa Doom, Joffrey Jafur, Mufasa.

It's all about that voice.

I know he's played other roles. But, since my childhood, all the roles in which I've seen him have been as a king. He just has that regal voice. You almost bow down just hearing it.

Michael was cast before Shari but sued the production, settled out of court.  Obviously, she is more known for TV roles and modeling.

She was fired.  Eddie wanted to tap that a$$ bc he is a colorist like most dark-skinned negros (See my posts on the fall of the North American Negro if he doesn't get his sh!t together).  She wasn't having it and got fired.  Hence, the lawsuit!
