Caitlyn Jenner launches bid for California governor
The former Olympian, reality TV star and transgender activist announced her run as the effort to recall Gov. Gavin Newsom moves forward

Caitlyn Jenner, the former Olympian, reality TV star and transgender activist, said Friday she is running to be governor of California, as a recall of the sitting Democratic governor moves forward.

In a press release posted to Twitter, Jenner, a longtime Republican, said that she’d make a “formal announcement” in the “the coming weeks” and pitched herself as a “compassionate disruptor” who will campaign on “solutions” and “providing a roadmap back to prosperity” for the state.

“California has been my home for nearly 50 years. I came here because I knew that anyone, regardless of their background or station in life, could turn their dreams into reality. But for the past decade, we have seen the glimmer of the Golden State reduced by one-party rule that places politics over progress and special interests over people. Sacramento needs an honest leader with a clear vision,” Jenner said.

I don't think so. Most conservatives are live and let live according to the constitution...that means limited special treatment for people with issues like this in the context of changing society for less than 1% of the population/feelings. It does not mean zero tolerance IMO. The last gasp of bible thumping gay bashing was used by W Bush....and it really didn't work that well because this is not 1955.

I feel sympathy personally for Bruised Gender but I'm not going to normalize what is happening there. As far as governor, couldn't be worse or more liberal than what they already have. Chris Christie is really fat in NJ....this one thinks he's a woman in California...it's a wash, haha. $:-\$

A lot of the older Reps don't like trans people, also the extreme religious people don't either. That's on both sides of the isle.

Most of the Reps i know don't care about it, they just don't want trans people getting special privileges. Trans people make up less than 1% of our population, there is no reason to pander to them and change our bathrooms. Also, the entire "men" competing in "women's" sports thing pisses a lot of them off.

This "thing" is mentally ill, "he" is just doing it for attention.

But it is California, so "he" has a chance.

Oh I don’t know about that, as much as I like the country up there. I just played a couple rounds of golf with a couple from Alberta. They are as disgusted with their PM as much as I am disgusted with Biden.
